Just read about 1947-48 Indo-Pak war. Indian didn't even enough troops to reinforce the existing units. The battle of Pandu and skardu both were lost due to this. Today even leh would have been part of pakistan if there wouldn't have been the Stuart light tanks on the zojila pass.

Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw had been a great army officer, but without the jawans, even a officer is nothing but merely a normal human being with rigorous training which is never enough to tackle a whole group of Pak Military officials and Kabalis.

The ceasefire was declared prematurely just because Sheikh Abdullah convinced Mr Nehru that he doesn't have control (linguistic)over those areas(present PoK).Rightly pointed out by HM that had the operation been continued PoK would have been in India.
Keeping Kashmir out of our dearest Sardhaar Patel & Mr PM Nehru dealing with Kashmir was a blunder, which PM Nehru committed
I admire current government but the fact is Field marshal Sam manekshaw never mean Indian army would have liberated occupied territories in 2 days. He meant that we shouldn't have agreed on cease fire. Even today indian army can't take pok in 2 days. We took entire month to recapture lost posts during kargil war. This is not east pakistan and there is no mukti bahini as well. The terrain , weather and the local population nothing is favorable. Minister should avoid encouraging people to think we would take POK that is not gonna happen using force. It is not worth the cost. It was not worth the cost in 1948 as well. Only chance we had was in 1972 shimla agreement but we know what happened.

Indian system didn't want to risk a nuclear confrontation. Crossing Loc would have meant a full blown out war with all possibilities open. Pakistan took benefit of this mindset and waged Jihad war. This bluff was called out in surgical strikes and Balakot air strikes which has changed the security calculus
