They both loved each other atleast at some point of time , sometimes relationships need more than just love , every relationship is hard , and given their circumstances and complexities, it didn't work for them so they separated, pretty simple . Do I feel that Michael could do better than Lisa , yes I do , but there is always going to be someone better than your significant other in many qualities, it's the love that gives them the winning points , and well he loved her clearly. They had very different personalities and priorities, and if you aren't mature enough to find a way to fix that , relationship will suffer in the long run , which is why after the divorce they simply "dated" and not remarried because they knew they had the chemistry, care and attraction to be together as boyfriend and girlfriend but not enough strength and maturity to be married. @DancersRevenge mature & rational way. it was not a bland sort of relationship, it was a strong connection w/ its emotional highs & lows. they hurt each other and said & did things out of pain & anger.. but pain is the price you pay for love. the relationship did not end w/ the divorce, from all indications the love did not end when the relationship ended. their story is tragic, some people love to gloat over that, some sympathize & view it w/ regret, some would like to deny it ever happened.

It’s understandable why MJ fans don’t like LMP. She may have been sweet to him (at least most of the time & initially for sure) but she also knows that she didn’t speak well in the media interviews in a very difficult period of his life.. she didn’t have to stand up for him as an ex but she could’ve at least stood up for his humanity when they were treating him as sub human.
