They both loved each other atleast at some point of time , sometimes relationships need more than just love , every relationship is hard , and given their circumstances and complexities, it didn't work for them so they separated, pretty simple . Do I feel that Michael could do better than Lisa , yes I do , but there is always going to be someone better than your significant other in many qualities, it's the love that gives them the winning points , and well he loved her clearly. They had very different personalities and priorities, and if you aren't mature enough to find a way to fix that , relationship will suffer in the long run , which is why after the divorce they simply "dated" and not remarried because they knew they had the chemistry, care and attraction to be together as boyfriend and girlfriend but not enough strength and maturity to be married. They both loved each other atleast at some point of time , sometimes relationships need more than just love , every relationship is hard , and given their circumstances and complexities, it didn't work for them so they separated, pretty simple . Do I feel that Michael could do better than Lisa , yes I do , but there is always going to be someone better than your significant other in many qualities, it's the love that gives them the winning points , and well he loved her clearly. They had very different personalities and priorities, and if you aren't mature enough to find a way to fix that , relationship will suffer in the long run , which is why after the divorce they simply "dated" and not remarried because they knew they had the chemistry, care and attraction to be together as boyfriend and girlfriend but not enough strength and maturity to be married. It's a shame because he might have avoided a lot of crap he later faced if he had someone to rest his head on and trust fully like a devoted loving wife .
