Здравствуйте. Я живу в Сибири. Нашёл крупный кристалл тёмного цвета в глыбе кварца. Форма почти правильной пятилучевой звезды.
Похож на рутил, но я не уверен.
Подскажите, пожалуйста, как точно определить, рутил это или нет?

decent size chunks of this material in semi-crystalline form turn up in plowed fields occasionally in my area of PA but it is anything but common.

I believe there are some old localities north of Lynchburg, but I have not explored that area so I can’t speak as to what’s still there or if it’s all privately-owned.
