I think there is so much detail about the day of Judgment. I found very lot of Quranic verses and Hadith about the day of judgment.... very terrifying and very interesting too..
it's just how mankind will react due to the circumstance they will be facing, everyone will be desperate for help. We are going to do exactly what has been written for us to do, this is a belief in Qadar (predestination) a pillar of Islam. And we have a free will to do as we want. The result is from the Qadar that has been decreed for us. So everything that took place or will take place, in which our actions and everything else is etc... included have been preserved in a book with Allah SWT
that was an answer from an islamic point of view, and from a rational point of view your comment is like saying If we know smoking and drugs will harm us, why're we going to smoke and do drugs. seems very unrational to me :)
beacuse u will be in such a panic state!, remember we have never seen,herd,or felt anything like that day befor u will be in pure shock.. so when u in that state u dont rationaly think u just RUSH to the person or thing that u think can save you in a very tight situATION.. hope this helps :-)

We may be unable to recollect parts of the knowledge we've acquired in this world, on the day of judgement.
