The technical term for what you refer to as "streaking" is CMOS smearing. It's not unpredictable. It happens when your shot is underexposed. If you see CMOS smearing, brighten the shot up by a couple stops and it'll go away. Besides, ETTR is a good practice no matter what camera you use, even film.

Even with the current sale price going on at Amazon,,, I am going to hold off a bit longer just to see if the GH7 comes down even a little bit more. Thank you for staying on top of the Lumix brands... I love their products, and what I feel is a cool way they keep the upgrades coming even after the purchase .
One other issue with the GH6 is that dynamic range for photography at ISO below 800 isn't as good as the GH7. With MFT I like to shoot at the lowest possible ISO when I can, but on the GH6 in high contrast scenarios ISO 100 isn't much better than ISO 800 for dynamic range.
Once bitten twice shy! I loved my GH5 and was thrilled when the GH6 was released but I discovered that streaking problem and never felt I could trust it after that! I bought a Nikon Z9 at around the same time and since then my GH6 has basically become redundant but I still love it so I keep it as a backup system for travel or if my Nikon gear was ever stolen!👍🏾 🏴🇸🇪🇹🇹

Can you talk more on the low light performance? You didn’t really mention much about how they performed. Is the Gh7 noisy? I feel like the gh6 is very noisy.
as a gh6 owner who uses it as B or C cameras on commercial shoots mostly, i'm still on the fence as AF is not that important to my particular use cases (has an 1st ac focus puller always). But i have yet to see any Arri LogC unlocked GH6 footage. If they can make GH6 match the LogC then i will keep it, otherwise i might as well just sell the GH6 + a solid lens for GH7

Im getting moire alot and w xlr2 when i move the camera around get static like connection issue🤷. I have ntg3 and short balanced xlr to connect to input 2. I have rode vlxpro xlr to 3.5 to rode wireless pro w 1 transmitter. Receiver input1.Camera is set to xlr 32 bit 48. 2 channel recording. In post if set to dual mono and disable 1 and basic surround most clips are fixed. I really like how it has gh6 body. Also like how arri works w both. I love the capabillites using atomos ninjas are equal w rates and codecs among both. I teally appriciate the pdaf slow rack af and how dji focus pro is working w gh6 w pana leica lens focus motor. Lumix other than 8k is the best cameras on the market and has been for a long time. Im thinking of s9 to compliment 2.8 24-70 and 70-200 as a little heavy beast. Wish there was 2x teleconverters by switch for both. 🎉Thank You
there were complaints of static w the xlr1. ive been waiting to hear more reviews prior to making that investment bc of it. looks like i may stick with my Zoom for now. thanks!

Hey mate how're you doing? :) I just installed resolve to my MacBook after editing my videos easily in FCPX. In DaVinci Resolve it doesn't let me import my media from my GH7. It's importing but it shows the media as (Media Offline) I wanted to use Davinci just for color grading so that I can create my own LUT's to import into my GH7. Do you know any solution for this problem? thanks in advance!
Interesting. Do you have the paid or free version? Idk if that could be an issue but I never ran into any problems like that before but I’m not a big Davinci guy either
If you're in the free version, you'll have to convert the footage to, for example, prores. This is because it doesn't allow you to edit 10 bit footage in the free version

The only other thing to consider is will there be firmware updates on a discontinued camera🤷🏼♂️ just another thought for you to consider

Are you shooting in PRO RES RAW? Because if so you can't use pro res raw in DaVinci resolve without converting you footage
@@MatthewDangyou I'm shooting in MOV. C4K 10bit 422 150mb/s and it doesn't let me import. It only let me import videos when been recorded on MP4 :/
