Eric is always a good interview. I have heard the Borje Salming story before. When Eric went into tge Hockey Hall of Fame, they were captains of the Legends Game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, which I attended an met both at an autograph session.
Big E seems like THE MAN. Seeing him at the HHOF game last year was a real treat. Pains me he couldnt have played with the Leafs longer. All the best to ya Sir.
Always amazes me that arch enemies on the ice (more to follow on that) can end up being roomies on the road, and sitting down laughing together on a podcast, like best buds. Flyers fans (me) and Sabres fans will probably all agree that you'd be a fool if your ass wasn't glued to the sofa for games between these two teams from 95 thru 98. All kinds of brawls, fights, checks, antics. Entertainment at its best. Years later these two are teammates in NY.
Eric was the man, he played with passion. He sparked a resurgence for the Flyers. He drew fans to the game because he was so exciting. I loved it when he would manhandle Stevens. Stevens didn’t want any part of Big E.
Back then the hockey players were big personalities. Everyone loved to hate Barnaby. Quite a character. Eric Lindros was like Darth Vader on ice. Those were the times... big bad Flyers.
The Big E is the most polite man on the planet off the ice. A menace on it. If not for the concussions, he would have been the GOAT. Changed the game…big, fast, skilled and strong.
Great episode! Just read your book too! I didn't know you played in my hometown of Rochester NY! I sure as hell knew you as a Sabre! 😉 Barny and Big E, what do you guys say to the kid that doesn't want to play soccer, baseball, basketball? I'm in Vegas now and all the new hockey families think they need to skate year round. Once these kids got a taste of hockey, they find all other sports boring. (They're not wrong! Lol!) What do you say to these kids?
I truly hate when injuries cost a season or moreover a career because it's such a shame not to able to witness the true peaks of these great talents and in this case a generational talent... I just wish the Flyers were able to draft Eric instead of giving up a boatload of talent because so many years were wasted with him as the only star... But regardless, thanx for the memories Eric you made watching hockey so fun and memorable during my high school and college years!!! And Barnaby, we woulda loved you in Philly!!! Prolly could have policed that dirty Stevens player so that he wouldn't freely try cheapshots on the Big E!!!
Barney & the Big E, both awesome on and off the ice.
Barnaby was a nut!! You either absolutely loved him or absolutely hated him.... depending on whether or not if he was playing your team!
2 of my FAVORITE PLAYERS. Lindros , born and raised in Philadelphia, and Barnaby just because
Phenomenal interview with Eric!

I can’t believe I’m subscribing to barnaby
Great interview, this podcast is a hidden gem
Two Fierce competitors! Excellent interview
I enjoyed watching Barnaby get it from the Flyers . Would have looked good in Orange and Black !
Oh absolutely! Despised him as an opponent but would have loved to have seen him in orange and black.
Without question. Hated Barnaby, but I know for sure we would have love him in O&B
Kinda have that now with hathaway. Just doesnt fight as much but a all heart player.

I’m with you on that.

Big E #88!!!!!!! Great to see these two conversing today! Kudos
Was always a fan of Barnaby, Eric was my favorite besides Mario! 🙏 love it!

If I were to build a hockey player it would be Scott Stevens. I think Lindros would agree.
Eric is such a great guy!
Watching the sanitized product today you sometimes forget the big characters the game had.

If Barnaby had played in Philly> there would be a statue for him...
39:50 DAAHHHHHHHHHH😅
Barnaby is right in the list with Sean Avery as one of those most annoying & hated players by most fans.
There’s a pair lol
I wonder if lindros played for the nordiques in 93, if they could of went all the way to the scf and even win against the kings
@25:51 😂
What a waste of time
He just can't say the name..."Scott Stevens". He's probably forgotten because of the concussions.
I wasnt trying to be nice. The game of hocke used to be a mans sport . You can't relate. its ok.@veganhigler6541
Is that supposed to be funny?
