This is as near as close to perfection as we can get to a direct upgrade, this is gorgeous in every sense of the word, the added punch of the song, the reworked animations with a more dynamic background that changes more with every new one added in the mixture, I am especially a massive fan of the sick! that appears after every successfully hit note being behind the note layer so it doesn't cover it, but probably the best part is the ending, Father McSex does not go down as easily, and rather keeps pushing on the failing battle, which is amazing on his part, thanks for this wonderful project Pie and the team!
The fact that Daddy Dearest actually "pushes" against the Corruption makes it more like the actual *Deathmatch* it is supposed to be, not just a song where Corrupt BF just dominates the scene.
I feel like 0:55 thru 1:04, BF keeps hitting the up note like he's trying to get some of his turn in while DD is going off and he can't exactly find a good moment to cut in for those 9-10 seconds and he ends up just stuck getting one note at a time until he can score the combo to get Pico to interject.
I feel like when daddy dearest saw his wife, unlike the original he doesn't give up immediately, he may be sad sure, but in this one, he's still determined and still giving his all to save them
I remember waiting almost 2 years for this mod. Its still probably up there as one of my favorite mods. The sheer attention to detail and perfection of everythinf was worth it.
God DAMN, what an experience. Everyone who worked on this, the sprites, the music, EVERYTHING, everyone did an awesome job! Seriously, incredible work!
My favorite part of this, aside from all the background details, was the ending when DD was on his knee but still trying his hardest to the very end, doing a much better last stand feel compared to the original. His watch is even on the floor during that part and that level of detail has to be commended here.
Actually he holds just barely enough to keep his knee from hitting the ground, even as he's losing, he refused to budge and all to his knees against the corruption.
This turned the most iconic fnf villian into the most infamous hero in 4 minutes. He knows he's the only one strong enough to even rival bf (besides senpai) yet, he still fails. In this version, it's like an actual battle in contrast to phantom fears version where bf wrecks him. Notice how in the beginning he pushed back and poses a real threat; as he falters, the corrupted laugh and mock him. They find it hysterical to see the big powerful DD fall to his knees. After MM goes away you can see him begin to wonder if he should give up. Then all of a sudden he snaps and decides to make a final stand. The music becomes more intense as it picks up the pace. DD goes all out and it almost sounds like a duet at 3:07 almost giving the feeling bf is still in there. Maybe that's what that flash of dd and bf rapping in the beginning was. It was bf remembering the past.
At the end of the song, BF stops looking to DD and is looking to the floor, making notice what he got weakened, letting BF Snap out and begin "Tormentor"

You even see BF start looking at the watch instead of DD at the end of the song, it’s not corrupted and maybe something about the watch helps reawaken BF within (it most likely reawakens memories as the OG DD is seen with it easily as he has his arms crossed, while in this battle it isn’t seen really at all until it falls off)
Okay so no one else has noticed the detail of the glowing corrupted faces in the hole in the background. There seems to be additional corrupted characters there like Hex (The Pink screen next to Whitty's eyes) and from what I can assume a Madness Combat Grunt. (It could be Tricky because of the mouth. I know Tricky is very powerful but Tricky DOES have weak spots) And no one seems to notice how Skid and Pump's faces disappear from the background when it's THEIR turn which is attention to detail. Now that's what I like! Everyone did a phenomenal job on this and I can't wait for what they have in store for us!
Tricky could have let himself get corrupted on purpose to use it to his advantage, honestly him getting corrupted makes sense. Just don't expect him to stay true to anyone's side.
I like how the difference of his not giving up like he did in the original actually has an effect on just how corrupted he is at the end of the song. Like, while there's still obvious signs of corruption on him he's still in much better shape than he was in base Deathmatch.
Okay guys. Let's be honest. This is the definitive Deathmatch. The sprites. The remix. The Animations. And the HUGE level of detail... This is just the perfect version of what Deathmatch is. And what it meant.
Skid and pump seem to beat DD, but only barely. Pico might have his somewhere near BF's. I can't tell MM's, she's too fast and DD already has his bar down anyways. I think BF might have the most or have the same as Pico and maybe MM.
I noticed just recently, right near the end of MM section, her eyes start glowing red instead of pink, indicating she's trying to fight back against the corruption for DD. Dang thats sweet
The impressive effort they put in here actually shows how scary the corruption mod is supposed to be, the children noises that there is, the heartbeat that appears from Daddy Dearest, and the last part also appears how sad it is to see Dad about to give up. THIS IS EXCELLENT WORK FOR THE EFFORT YOU'VE ALL DONE!
I was so confused as to what the transition flash halfway through MM's appearance in the song meant. And after backing up like 3 times, I realized her eyes started shifting to red rather than staying pink after the transition flash.
THe saddest part is that even when he is at his last moments he doesn't give, even though he is going through all that pain, and he knows he cant win. What a damn legend.
3:57 a nice touch is that evil BF also gets tired after this turn so DD actually weakened him and probably thats what made BF gain a bit of consciousness in his mind
Oh my God, this is just phenomenal! The original Deathmatch video was great, but this is even better! That flashback to Week 1 before the battle starts, the corrupted characters being everywhere in the stage instead of just being in that large hole in the wall as the "audience", the characters having more movements and emotions in their animations, and Daddy Dearest still trying to fight back the corruption despite growing weaker instead of giving up instantly once he sees Mommy Mearest makes this whole thing feels like an actual "final battle". I also like the small detail where Skid and Pump left the hole when its their turn and the cameo of popular mod characters who also unfortunately got corrupted. Truly an astonishing work from the devs who made this!
People saying that Tricky can't be corrupted are overlooking an important detail. What if Tricky let himself be corrupted on purpose? When the Auditor absorbed him, he managed to take over the Auditor's body and the Auditor's hell at the same time, so what if Tricky is merely biding his time until DD, and subsequently the entire world falls to the corruption before executing his takeover? Once that happens, the world will truly know Madness.
really love the atmosphere it builds with the corrupted characters actually surrounding the area and the laughing at the end is the icing on the cake for it
Ok to be honest, this is litterly the best fanmade deathmatch I've ever seen. The details, the remix, and that the bar at the bottom actually moves when it is DD's turn is all great! You and your team have done a great job! 👍
Canonically, those appear to be demon hampering strings or something similar; with MM and DD having stronger powers than most, they need to be debuffed somehow and that appears to be it. In the original, DD can’t use Red Eyes mode after being hit by them, so either Mm or BF hit him with them after her section.
@Caleb Vela If they did it too early, he'd catch on and start dodging it; besides, he wasn't nearly as distracted as he is here in Deathmatch, and even further still when his wife came on stage. He was at his most off guard and therefore the best time to strike with the killing blow

one thing I always liked about this song is that you lead, Daddy Dearest copies. It kind of enforces the fact that the corruption (whether it being infection, a sentient being, or what have you) is in control.
The mod is amazing, though I noticed while people are very attentive to small details no one has made mention that both tankman and Hex are in the corruption, Hex being the big taller visor and Tankman's cracked visor is just behind DD's head. I think there are more cameo's in there but I can't make others out very well besides those two very obvious ones.
Matt is standing next to DD on the stage, Whitty is next to hex, Tricky is also there and theres also a simplistic smiley face which im guessing is bob since its so short
The fact that in the background I can see a bunch of the characters from the community, even some of the underrated ones, that just shows you put a lot of effort in to this and you've earned my respect for this. Well done 👍

One thing that I liked about this recreation is the attention to detail especially the wall art where you can see skid and pump but when its their turn to sing there is a blank space. Edit: realized there is also characters from different mods jeez this is good.
I love the fact that daddy dearest has special notes unlike in the original and he drains hp with each note he hits it makes it feel more like a actual fight then just him getting beaten all the way through
I love everything about this: the remix, the sprites, the revamped anims, the charting, the SWITCHING BACKGROUND... Felt obligated to use majs here. i love how in 3:53 onwards, the healthbar resembles DD's last breath, everytime he sings, BF just hits him harder even tho DD is even doing more notes than BF, until the end, where the healthbar is 100% BF, the corruption won, such amazing attention to detail man ;-; (P.S sorry if i worded it wrong but i think i got my point across)
You can even notice how he made one last big attempt to gain ground by looking at his icon going from losing to neutral only to be beat back after his last dying attempts.
The fact that it shows characters in the background such as matt whitty hex and tankman shows that everyone else has fallen to corruption meaning the world truly is in DDs hands amazing work

Attention to the detail, the characters actually comes out of the background, Mommy Dearest actually "uncorrupts", the watch falling off at the end. And not to mention, BOYFRIEND actually looks down instead of his normal pose, indicating that somewhere in there, he cares. That's where the Soul!BF part plays after. 3:48 Very well done, this remix and style is about one of my favorites.

Pico's Animations are absolutely amazing and in character. This whole thing was just amazing to witness, amazing job! (though Tricky has been confirmed to be immune to the Corruption so seeing him in the Background did throw me off quite a bit)

A small detail i might be overthinking is the health drain and (what i like to call) uncorruption arrows It's always there showing that even when double d is brought to one knee he's still fighting back As for the arrows notice how they appear a lot more once mommy mearest takes the stage and when bf returns Almost like double d is doing everything he can to gree them

Okay so no one else has noticed the detail of the glowing corrupted faces in the hole in the background.
There seems to be additional corrupted characters there like Hex (The Pink screen next to Whitty's eyes) and from what I can assume a Madness Combat Grunt. (It could be Tricky because of the mouth. I know Tricky is very powerful but Tricky DOES have weak spots)
And no one seems to notice how Skid and Pump's faces disappear from the background when it's THEIR turn which is attention to detail. Now that's what I like!
Everyone did a phenomenal job on this and I can't wait for what they have in store for us!

Tricky could have let himself get corrupted on purpose to use it to his advantage, honestly him getting corrupted makes sense.

I like how the difference of his not giving up like he did in the original actually has an effect on just how corrupted he is at the end of the song. Like, while there's still obvious signs of corruption on him he's still in much better shape than he was in base Deathmatch.

I noticed just recently, right near the end of MM section, her eyes start glowing red instead of pink, indicating she's trying to fight back against the corruption for DD. Dang thats sweet
The impressive effort they put in here actually shows how scary the corruption mod is supposed to be, the children noises that there is, the heartbeat that appears from Daddy Dearest, and the last part also appears how sad it is to see Dad about to give up.

I was so confused as to what the transition flash halfway through MM's appearance in the song meant. And after backing up like 3 times, I realized her eyes started shifting to red rather than staying pink after the transition flash.
White and Red to signify that DD is getting through to her somewhat and that she is fighting back with him only to be shut down by BF returning.

Oh my God, this is just phenomenal! The original Deathmatch video was great, but this is even better! That flashback to Week 1 before the battle starts, the corrupted characters being everywhere in the stage instead of just being in that large hole in the wall as the "audience", the characters having more movements and emotions in their animations, and Daddy Dearest still trying to fight back the corruption despite growing weaker instead of giving up instantly once he sees Mommy Mearest makes this whole thing feels like an actual "final battle". I also like the small detail where Skid and Pump left the hole when its their turn and the cameo of popular mod characters who also unfortunately got corrupted. Truly an astonishing work from the devs who made this!
People saying that Tricky can't be corrupted are overlooking an important detail.
What if Tricky let himself be corrupted on purpose? When the Auditor absorbed him, he managed to take over the Auditor's body and the Auditor's hell at the same time, so what if Tricky is merely biding his time until DD, and subsequently the entire world falls to the corruption before executing his takeover?
Once that happens, the world will truly know Madness.

Ok to be honest, this is litterly the best fanmade deathmatch I've ever seen. The details, the remix, and that the bar at the bottom actually moves when it is DD's turn is all great! You and your team have done a great job! 👍
god the fact that dd and mm's poses are in sync on some notes, and he has all those cuts from her HURTS
Canonically, those appear to be demon hampering strings or something similar; with MM and DD having stronger powers than most, they need to be debuffed somehow and that appears to be it. In the original, DD can’t use Red Eyes mode after being hit by them, so either Mm or BF hit him with them after her section.
@Caleb Vela If they did it too early, he'd catch on and start dodging it; besides, he wasn't nearly as distracted as he is here in Deathmatch, and even further still when his wife came on stage. He was at his most off guard and therefore the best time to strike with the killing blow

one thing I always liked about this song is that you lead, Daddy Dearest copies. It kind of enforces the fact that the corruption (whether it being infection, a sentient being, or what have you) is in control.
The mod is amazing, though I noticed while people are very attentive to small details no one has made mention that both tankman and Hex are in the corruption, Hex being the big taller visor and Tankman's cracked visor is just behind DD's head. I think there are more cameo's in there but I can't make others out very well besides those two very obvious ones.

One thing that I liked about this recreation is the attention to detail especially the wall art where you can see skid and pump but when its their turn to sing there is a blank space. Edit: realized there is also characters from different mods jeez this is good.

i love how in 3:53 onwards, the healthbar resembles DD's last breath, everytime he sings, BF just hits him harder even tho DD is even doing more notes than BF, until the end, where the healthbar is 100% BF, the corruption won, such amazing attention to detail man ;-;

You can even notice how he made one last big attempt to gain ground by looking at his icon going from losing to neutral only to be beat back after his last dying attempts.

And not to mention, BOYFRIEND actually looks down instead of his normal pose, indicating that somewhere in there, he cares. That's where the Soul!BF part plays after. 3:48

This is pretty incredible for a fanmade Corruption mod video. It has a remix, new sprites, a good chart and ect. This is one of the best Corruption fan made video that I ever seen.
The Change in DD's voice when hes kneeling makes a difference in any other corruption mod, it adds a hit to the lore
the absolute Cherry on top for this is that at the end of it before the swarm of notes come in on BF's Side is having DD drop the mic and held his head down, with tears falling

Pico's Animations are absolutely amazing and in character. This whole thing was just amazing to witness, amazing job! (though Tricky has been confirmed to be immune to the Corruption so seeing him in the Background did throw me off quite a bit)

Just noticed an insane detail, in the background when the corruption appears you can see skid and pumps face, and when it’s their turn the spot of where they used to be is now empty.
At the end when DD fell on the ground and there was all the laughter I kept getting goosebumps it was freaky yet awesome
Edit: also I didn't notice this before, but at the beginning of the song, bf is looking up at DD but at the end he's looking to the floor. Probably, from what I would assume, it's from bf waking up in his mind
Edit #2: I also see a buncha mods in the back including: whitty, hex, tricky, and I think I see Bob and tankman in there somewhere
So DD may have lost, but he was still able to weaken the Corruption enough to give BF a shot at breaking free.

I'm not sure if it's a mistake or not but Mearest's eyes start changing to her original colors right before being swapped, perhaps indicating her corruption weakening, BF also appears to be unsettled and focusing on DD's watch at the end, if we ever come back around to this I hope these details are expanded upon.

A small detail i might be overthinking is the health drain and (what i like to call) uncorruption arrows
It's always there showing that even when double d is brought to one knee he's still fighting back

The corrupted demon background dancers during Mommy Mearest's part was an amazing touch
DD's watch on the ground could be a reference to how his time is up, and the fact MM has tears the second before BF returns. There are an endless amount of details and I bet I still haven't caught them all.

This mod is amazing! no kidding, I love every effort putted into this, especially the little details, you can see that daddy dereast's expresion changed when he saw mommy mearest, shows how he really is upset that his own wife is corrupted.

Corrupted Pico's design in this is SICK. Also, I love that there were more references to other mods in the background in the original, with a corrupted version of Tricky, Hex, Bob(?), and some others. This is one of the best fanmade corruption mods, in my opinion. Good work on this!
This has a lot of effort, even small details like the microphones in the background probably for the other characters, and the art here is beautiful along with the music.
