Theres no fresh sea fish in slavonia but fresh river fish from what fish stew is made. Also you won't find better cobanac, kulen and sarma then in Slavonia. Worth a visit but not popular enough for mainstream tourism. Its like a hidden gem
The best food was cooked by Marko Puseljic in Germany : Plescavica with sheep cheese in it ! Fanatasic. Dishes to try in south Croatia (seaside): - brudet (sea fish stew); - grilled fish; - pašticada with gnocchi (tender spiced meat in thick dark sauce) - grilled lamb, lamb under the bell (meat under iron bell heated with charcoal) -veal under the bell - fish soup; - pršut with cheese (cold cuts) North Croatia: - purica s mlincima (turkey with pastry) - štrukli (its like big gnocchi filled with fresh cheese and baked in cream with brown crust); - kulen with fresh cheese and cream (pork cold cut, thick, meaty, made of garlic, red paprika, salt, pepper-you will love it, trust me) - zagorska juha (soup with potatoes, bacon and mushrooms) - fiš paprikaš (river fish stew with pasta) - čobanac (spicy beef stew) Of course, in all Croatia you can also find grilled meat (ćevapi, pljeskavice, uštipci) but this is rather a regional thing (can be found in Serbia or Bosnia also). There is no meat in Italy like passticada and especialy not roasted like janjetina, svinjetina ili vol. You have fiorentina steak and thats it. We have mix of food influenced by central Europe, east and Mediterranena area but also our own.

"Bona", Ćevapi sigurno u hrvatskoj nisu tako dobri kaso u Bosni. a što je onda sa brudetom koji spada sigurno među top 10 delicija u hrvatskoj. Ovaj popis je sastavljao netko s kontinenta što je vrlo očito. Ne umanjujem vrijednost Hr kontinentalne kuhinje, ali mediteranska kuhinja svi jako dobro znamo koliko je cijenjena
