As someone who has celebrated all their PB's alone 17:30 hit hard, congrats on your PB! That was in fact a well ran race by you, very mindful through the whole thing and well executed.
Well done. What a fantastic day and result. As someone who can just about drag his aged carcass around a 5 or 10k race circuit, I am in awe of real runners like you. 💪
Ah I’m so excited for you - have you ran it before? I did Chicago last year and it was my favourite race ever!! Good luck for it, I hope you have a blast. And thank you for watching and commenting 😄
Ah such nice comments - thank you! Watching it back I felt the same and thought wow could I have done more! But I didn’t film to last 10k to be fair 😂 3:15 would be incredible! I’m going to push for 3:25 first 😃👌🏼thanks for watching!
@maisie_runs My pleasure. First time watching. Like I said you looked well within yourself. So 3.15 is definitely on the cards. Keep up the training and try and stay injury free. Good luck👍
Thanks Aubrey!! I’m not going to disagree…it still feels crazy to me but 10 years+ in the making! You smashed yours too, first marathon ticked off, great time and most importantly it looked liked you had the best weekend 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks so much! Didn’t quite have the last push I hoped for, but on balance very happy with how I paced and executed it 😃 thanks for watching and commenting. 🙌🏼
Thank you! Don’t think I really tuned it to that at the time, but looking back at the stats I’m very pleased! Thanks for watching and commenting too 😄🙌🏼
Congratss, Maisie!!! 23 minutes of PB while filming and 1 hand down for handheld bottle was nothing short of amazing. Sending out hugs out there if that counts!🎉🎉
Hahaha thank you so much! It does make me think could I have done more without those things! But so pleased with how it all went and how I executed it! Thanks for watching and for your kind words 😃🙌🏼
Completely! I think this time I was in so much shock it took a while to sink in. But every day this week I have woke up it has become more real! Very proud. Thank you for your kind words and for watching 🙌🏼
Thanks so much for watching! That’s so exciting - fingers crossed for you and hoping the race is everything you hope for 🙏🏻🙌🏼 - let me know how you get on!
Absolutely amazing, Super 🥂🍾...massive PB👏❤. It warmed up quickly after a chilli start, tho I'm happy the wind dropped! Very well done - what a fabulous way to finish a Major!!😁
@@maisie_runs thank you ...yes, v happy with my PB☺dropped 38mins (2023: 4h:35 // 2024: 3h:57). Haha, If I can drop another 35mins (v. BIG ask!) it would be a BQ for me!! See you in Chicago/ Nice/ Valencia/ ?
Great video you captured the day really well, oh and great run too, congratulations 🎉, do t worry too much about the legs in the last 5k, 42k is a long way, everyone’s legs hurt
Thanks so much, for watching and for your kind words!! I just wanted a bit more push in them, which I’ve had previously…but obviously I ran this a lot quicker than before - so maybe that’s totally normal!! 🙌🏼😂
Great time and awesome well made video, really surprising you dont have loads more subsribers. Going for my sports massage tomorrow and looking forward to hearing all about her Berlin marathon experience!
Well, I think that’s the nicest comment I’ve ever had 😂🙏🏻 I’ve not been on TH-cam long, but appreciate that. Hope you have subscribed 😅😉 thank you for watching and commenting 🫶🏻
Thank you so much! It still blows my mind to be honest. It took me 5 years and multiple attempts to run a sub 2 hour half marathon. So to then do this twice, back to back in a marathon still feels totally wild to me, let alone 3:30! Thank you for watching and commenting 🙌🏼🙏🏻
Thank you! My training had been a bit of a strange block so it was hard to know what was within reach, but 3:30 was definitely a shock! Thank you for watching 😃
Do you have other marathons planned already? There are European Championships in Belgium in April 2025. It won't be as big as the major marathons, but it could still be a fun event. I'm just mentioning it since the marathon finishes in my hometown, and I'll be doing the half marathon there since I recently picked up running. 😅
I’m sure many thousands did 😂 I enjoyed capturing my day! Didn’t feel that it took away too much from a ‘full send’ - but agree it’s alway good to race some without any distraction like this!
The honest answer; I have been incredibly lucky with ballots. I have ran London x3 times; twice for charity and I got in once in the ballot last year after 10 years of entering (I won’t be entering again now as I’ve had more than my fair share!). Chicago I also got in via the ballot. With Berlin I was really fortunate to have a place with Meta Endurance - a company I do some shoe testing and reviewing with. So extremely fortunate I know 🙌🏼 Thank you for watching and commenting! 😃
@derekpugh5457 Sunday will be 14th Marathon (Chicago) super excited!! ...and yes will be 6 Majors (London, NYC, Berlin x2, Chicago x2). Alas, it will be at least 2 years before I manage e a BQ for Boston!! But I'm working hard towards that!!😁🥵
I wish (affordable) drones were invented already that can follow you around, dodge barriers like tree branches and other drones, with long battery life and quiet, so that people/runners don't waste their energy on carrying filming gear.
That’s so true - I thought the same!! Weirdly the filming helped me psychologically to break it up. But you are right; I definitely need to do a marathon were I completely get my head down and focus on nothing but the run 👌🏼 Thanks for watching and commenting 😃🙏🏻
Hahah I definitely did! I lost a lot of water on the day - was very dehydrated at the end. I seem to have a bit of a ‘super power’ in which I look fairly ‘fresh’ after marathons. I certainly don’t look the same after my interval sessions. Maybe I needed to try harder on race day 😂😮💨 Thank you for watching and your comment 🙌🏼

That hit me too. At the time but also when watching it back to be honest. That’s so kind thank you - and for watching and commenting.

@@maisie_runs I’m still in the mood watching my fellow runners videos of the 50th Berlin Marathon. There are pretty good ones out there. 🙂
@runnerfromhel thank you🙏 it's a pleasure. I'm filming / documenting to help other runners and to help my charity Young Lives vs Cancer #YLVC
