JANSPEED DIY MINI Part 1

This is the classic MINI DIY documentary I made in the late 80's to celebrate Mini's 40th birthday. It became a collectible video in its day and probably the ultimate guide to what can be done to classic Minis by the people who really know. Janspeed were at the start of the development of the Mini Coopers and Cooper S's and became one of the most celebrated, successful tuning companies for race Minis, winning shelf full's of trophies.
The original video was an hour long so it has been divided here into four parts so please see the others in the series.
Enjoy the video and I hope it gives you some insight into what is possible and give you some ideas as to what you might do with your own classic Mini!

JEEZ THAT'S David WIZARD, from late 80s early 90s I had /have all his tuning books which helped me WIN my first EVER race in Llandow class 5 ,my older mate with a sponsored engine came 3rd class 1 he wasn't happy lol, Jeez this brings back some amazing memories of me and my girlfriend RACING AND LACING XR3Is around the beach roads in Llanelli Wales THANKS FOR POSTING BUDDY SCOOBS UK.

I have the original VHS of this and have been wanting to get it digitized for a while. Now I don't need to, cheers. P.S. Am I the only one who thought the mechanic building the engine looked bored with it?

first car was also a harvest gold, L reg, but in 72 not 73 registered, err basic 850cc, thanks to David Vizard, seen at 2.32, great book on how to modify your mini... it became a 1100 screamer with a mk2 cooper head.... could have done with these videos back in 1986!
