In my honest opinion 34:27 was the best composition that sparked my interest. I paused the video cause I was curious about the castles in the background. They really seemed to give the painting somethin to lur me in and gave it a story.

I do agree with you, the tall pillars made it interesting, gave a vibe of mystery and adventure.

Just my opinion: You got something going from 7:50, but you're in love with the yellow-white triangle (of doom) ... I think had you killed it completely you would have rocked it. That being said props to you for showing what you consider a fail. 👍

Whenever I am considering composition, I am thinking about how much attention each element draws from the viewer (whether that is through colour, shape or other). I find positioning is also important; putting areas of focus/more detail closer to the centre of the composition. Anyways your work is looking great!

Jordan, l think l know why you removed that structure with two columns from the middleground: it was competing for being a primary focal point with icy cliffs at the distance. Am l right? My eyes actually have been jumping crazily between them and 2 columns why l was watching the video! Lighting and colors are superb as always! And when l paint a landscape l always think of you and your paintings! Keep it up!
A huge fan of your work,
    -Tatiana

How do you figure out when you messed up or do you just leave it and come back?

I was wondering why you started this sketch with colour/value, and others with notan. How do you know which approach is right for which sketch? I definitely know once a sketch is done if notan or values would have been easier, but it's hard to say before I start.

Do you ever do character art? I am curious to see what that would look like. :)
