    He’s entitled to his opinion, but as a Lincoln owner, who has also owned BMW, Lexus and Cadillac, Lincoln absolutely nails it! It has the most comfortable, quiet cabin with an awesome THX sound system, all wheel drive and a panoramic sunroof so big that I don’t even miss having a convertible. It takes regular fuel unlike BMW or Mercedes. The fact that it is several thousand dollars cheaper than other luxury brands and made in the USA makes it even better in my opinion.

    I have a 2016 and my wife has the 2017, both are reserve and they are amazing. I love the new grill on the 2019 and 2020 but they don’t have the power that this v6 engine does. There is tons of room in these vehicles and the cargo area is huge for a vehicle this size.

    I am confused by the review. All thru his test drive he was impressed except for the storage. Then when did his final review he said the generally lacked everything! I saw the MKX and the interior is incredible. I don't get it!!

    Had the chance to rent the 3.7 MKX and was impressed with almost everything about it! Please don't ask me about pairing my Windows phone...never happened in the 2 days I had it. Loved the "welcome to your Lincoln" approach at night and the comfort and premium feel overall.

      What rental outfit did you use? Thanks. Renting a vehicle for a couple of days BEFORE you go to a dealership is a good strategy.

    You think they should have greater attention to detail regarding the interior design? What? I respectfully disagree. In my opinion it's actually one of the most appealing and aesthetically pleasing interior designs i've seen compared to other models. The lines are beautiful, and they've simplified as well as cleaned up the center console. It's much more attractive, efficient, and a practical use of space compared to others. Perhaps its a difference of opinion in the generation gap. Good job to Lincoln for actually having a brain behind interior designs and making a luxury vehicle look luxurious. I think other car brands should get on board to making the interior designs of their models classier looking. Right now Lincoln and Cadillac have it going on!

      I agree. The Lincoln My Touch is awesome. Of course you have to spend more than 30 seconds to master it. If your driving there is no need to touch the MYTOUCH. One can do anything with voice commands. Again, this involves a human being able to outwit the system and simply learn but a few voice commands. You can phone, set the temperature, set the navigation, and select radio, usb, etc without taking you hands off the wheel. So what's the problem?

      PS: I just traded in a Mercedes GLK350 on an MKX and the Microsoft Sync system exceedingly less complicated and more user friendly than what came from across the pond.

    According to the numbers this car beats the Lexus across the board. It beats it at everything.
    These MKX's are about the nicest midsize suv you can buy.

    EVERY other person who's listened to the 19 speaker Revel stereo is blown away by it.....this guy is a tone-deaf nerd. Period. He needs to be reviewing appliances.

      +colderbeer I couldn't agree more. I mystery shop, and hit six Lincoln dealers in the last six months. For fun, test drove the 2016 MKX, top luxury package each time, 19 speaker Revel system each time. I'm 57 years old, used to help install high end car audio systems, and this Revel system is just awesome. This guy is an idiot.

      I won't go as far as call him a dolt, but he sounds like he's a Lexus salesman on a mission to deter anyone from buying the MKX. I don't understand the play acting to try to find stuff in storage units while driving. My wife loves the storage under the console for her purse. Keeps it off the slush on the doormats during the winter and hides it from onlookers when she leaves it in the car half the time.

    Get your hands on a 2018 MKX Reserve With the Optional 2.7L V6 in Platinum White with 21 inch wheels and a blacked out top /panoramic sunroof. Very quiet cabin but not as quiet as the 2019 Nautilus. 335 horsepower and quick to accelerate. No lag at at all. The leather is seating with adjustable thigh mechanism like the German cars and massaging seats even your butt. I test drove the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 . Though not in the class and I'm not a car enthusiast or expert but a consumer who felt that those cars offered less tech and optioned up would be just as pricey including the cost to MAINTAIN them. Both the Audi and the BMW handle well around curves but the driving experience didn't wow me and I just love cars and I'm coming out of a Ford Edge Titanium. Trust me in my opinion the 2018 MKX Reserve has a totally different more luxurious feel than the Edge and handles even better. The Edge Titanium drives well. Many attest to that. The German cars have a sleeker interior , rather minimalistic but I love the all black leather seating , blacked out ceiling, the waterfall console with access to controls via buttons at my finger tips unlike in the Audi I drove and the BMW. I had to reach lower to access those things and there were not as many physical controls in ADDITION to a touch screen. I like options. The welcome lighting when you approach is really cool tech including a plethora of other driver assistance and safety technology. Also, you still have remote start with the Lincoln and Cadillacs that you can only get through an app on some of the German cars. WTH? I haven't driven any of the Lexus vehicles. I do not care for the styling. The reviews I've read don't rave about their performance or interior except one that I recall but can't remember the model. I'm leasing to buy so my deal was worth it and I'm happy with it. The MKX is fun to drive , very luxurious though they may go with iPad like touch screens in the future who knows. It's an impressive vehicle all around in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised. And it's AWD. The gas mileage is below average... but the MKX also has great visibility. The pillars on side in the back near the hatch are rather thick but there's a small window just after the pillar between it and the hatch window that opens up your visibility. Includes the 360 degree camera, pre collision warning, cross traffic alert ..Check the specs for all the other tech. Lastly it has high crash test and safety scores and concierge service. My schedule is busy. It's nice now to have Lincoln pick up my SUV for service, wash it and return it to me while I'm at work. And it's really FUN to drive!

    You have the trailer hitch on this car, so for the hands free liftgate, you put your foot to either side of the hitch, NOT IN THE MIDDLE, as in those without the hitch ! ! !

    As a 2016 and a 2017 MKX Reserve owner and being a licensed mechanic this is by far the best car I have ever owned, my 2017 has over 252,000 klm and my just acquired 2016 with 46,000 will be my Retirement Car,yes I bought used like new , that’s how much I like these cars
    And would compare maintenance bills with BMW or Mercedes any day , just ask a Mechanic!!

    Shame, I would much prefer the extra torque and power in this type of car with the twin turbo v6. The naturally aspirated V6's of the competition don't give the effortless acceleration you would want from a luxury car.

  • @michaelcerza871
    @michaelcerza871 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You are nuts. Alcantera suede on the headliner, and beautiful soft high end leather, but you say it does not have "refinement" Why not go see one of these vehicles with the Lincoln Black Label Thoroughbred version to see that lack of refinement. The Lexus is just plain ugly when you compare this vehicle to it, and for the few things that you think the Lincoln lacks in refinement, I would take it over the Lexus without hesitation.

  • @decarloswilliams6099
    @decarloswilliams6099 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Some of the comments towards this gentlemen's review are ridiculously childish. He's clearly stating the positives as well as the negatives of this car against one of it's top competitors. Considering his line of work, I think he has more basis for comparison than most people simply on the volume of vehicles from all classes and price points that he's driven. If you are a true car lover then this doesn't require explanation. Ultimately, it's up to the consumer to test drive and compare for themselves on what is best them. I personally think the Lincoln and Lexus are both attractive and compareable given what your needs are. It's about choice. Great review either way.

They are not standard! And when they are those s vehicles are 40,000 more abd up! So compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges
