    I did this and I feel I lost pressure. Ok,coming out of the tank I had to use a reducer from 1/2" to 3/8" cause I could not find a 1/2" flexible hose to go from the tank to this loop. So I end up going to Harbor freight and buying a 3/8" x 6' long hose to connect to the loop from the tank. Then connected the air filter from Northen tools 3/8 inlet and 3/8 outlet to the loop,I have no leaks and feels like I have lost pressure. My question is ; Coming from the tank with a reducer of 3/8 into 1/2" pipes would it make loose pressure?? Thanks. ;0)

      it will restrict your airflow( the speed that air can move to your end of the hose

    Definately agree with adding a regulator coming out of the tank but I would put a filter (water separator) before it to keep water and contaminates out of the regulator. Thanks for the video.

    Connected as a loop systems, as suggested, negates the ability to put the loop down stream. There is no down stream since air is flowing into the loop from both directions as stated. What did I miss?

    Can you provide a diagram of the loop system he highly recommends? It is hard to understand what needs to be looped and how it would look like??

    Had pvc shop air supply for over a decade now 150 psi no issues at all I’ve see videos of tests where they drop a 50 lb steel ball from 12 feet onto a schedule 40 pipe pressurized at 140 psi and nothing happened..... sounds like ppl have had bad experiences but not me....

  • @finemyu69
    @finemyu69 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you say never use PVC pipe I am about to get a 60 gallon Air compressor so I have been to a lot of shops looking at how there air lines are ran and about 80% of them are using schedule 40 PVC

    • @sangkim1035

      Because it will get brittle over time and break. it does not just snap, it would explode sending sharp pieces of plastics all over the area that can hurt you.

    • @skoronesa1
      @skoronesa1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I love when people say NEVER DO THIS ONE THING! but never say why. I guess god set a poor precedent with that apple....lolz pex is fine for air as it will tear if it fails, not explode into shrapnel.

      @@skoronesa1 if people don't know enough to know why not to use PVC, then they don't know enough to install their own shop air systems

    • @skoronesa1
      @skoronesa1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JerseyTom I think that most people don't contain the full breadth of knowledge required to make the ideal system but I disagree with your assertion of correlation.
      In many areas pvc is used extensively for domestic water piping in houses which to most people would portray it as an ideal solution.
      Or you could just make blanket statements like a dick.

      @@GoSuburban - that wasn't a negative, I just realized while watching that this is more aimed at someone running an industrial business or even a high scale home shop. I have a small compressor and I'm installing a single reel hose that will be within 10 feet of the compressor, still a very good video though, I hope I wasn't coming off as negative :)
