@@sinnerboy6009 I love both. Rawer voice is more “traditionally good” and definitely has its own flavor, but something about Brett’s ethereal, high pitched, reverb laden voice just cuts to the bone!

man, these guys still bring it. it boggles me into why they're not big in the u.s. they should be selling out in the u.s. playing arenas.
oasis were kinda big for a while in the u.s. while blur only had one major hit w/ "song 2". that's it and it's kinda sad because they made things exciting again. suede is still better than those guys. i really hope they come to the u.s. one of these days or i would go to britain to see them.
thevoid99 Well the obvious answer is the Bernard split and that when the record companies finally blew the budget on them it was for the not-terribly-hit-loaded Head Music (on the back of the success of Coming Up in the UK and Europe).
Very big shame because as you say they are in top form and have a brilliant back catalogue. Their new music is impressive too. Can't wait to see my favourite band at the Royal Albert Hall later this month =D

@@Xirsuyx It’s unbelievably unfair to say Oakes just recycles Butler’s rifts. He plays Butler’s riffs on his songs obviously, but he also wrote plenty of their most famous guitar parts himself. Butler deserves the utmost respect and credit for Suede and Dog Man Star, but Oakes deserves equal credit for Coming Up and everything after. He was the finest guitarist they could’ve chosen to replace Butler.
They could really invite Bernard Butler one day to play this song properly!
