Fun Fact! The "Frog" is actually Laika, a 3D model of a Monkey's Head that's used for testing materials and light rendering. Laika is essentially the younger sibling of the Utah Teapot which is well known in 3D Software development as a default object.
Weird, i tought this is strictly Blender (3d modeling, sculpting and animating software) inside joke. I don't recall hearing it being called Laika, but Susan
@@crusaderanimation6967 It is indeed called Suzanne, and originates in blender (though now it's more popular). I don't know where the above commenter got "Laika" from, especially since "Laika" is a dog name that translates approximately as "barker".
Wait the bit about Orbo being a Poltergeist could be true. It said when a Poltergeist interacts with Zoetrope, Cherenkov Radiation is produced, which is formed as a bright blue glow in real life, the same type of glow going on with Orbo once he enters
31:50 - I'm pretty sure this boss is a reference to a recurring boss fight in game developer Treasure's works called Melon Bread. It showed up as far back as their Genesis games as a disembodied set of teeth, eyes and nose, looking *very* similar to the Smiler boss in Nowhere, MI.
Great video. I'm bad with names so it's always interesting to see that a number of games I like were actually by the same person. Turgor Pressure stuck in my head along with a couple of other underwater horror games that I think were bundled together in a demo pack thingy so I was super surprised it was by Johnny since Peeb was so well know by me. Honestly loved Nowhere MI's demo so I've been waiting for that patiently for a good long while. Orbo's Odyssey kinda surprised me with how good it's platforming and movement is although he has history with 3D platforming so I guess I shouldn't be.
I don't know if this is intentional, but the talking gun in 'nowhere, michigan' is very similar to the one from middens. I can see a lot of John Clowder's fever-dream-like influence here.
Future me, do they find out P-338 is just l33tspeech for "peeb"?
Fun fact! There's actually a small community in Michigan called Hell!

And i somehow though all this stuff was just some weird inside joke, when completing Orbo's Odyssey...
The algorithm finally recommended something good!
I'm glad you think so, thank you!

29:31 is this gun a reference of the Genie from Middens/GIngiva?

I feel like this is gonna be a good one
Fever dream definitely lives up to the name
me and my old friend played peeb adventures everyday in 6th grade on my old laptop using the trackpad. those were good days.
Thing I noticed: Smiler is a reference to Melon Bread from Gunstar Heroes
GUNSTAR REFERENCED???
Ngl so fire I watched this twice. Had never really messed with most of his work.
That's very nice of you to say, thank you!
3:45 that looks like the default blender monkey head but super low poly
man I had no idea the guy behind turgor pressure was the same one who made orbo's odyssey
The Mourning Cubes look like melty versions of the clancer blocks from Mischief Makers.
