Why do the block the small us woman? She did not hit a single ball in the video. I figure the rate of success would be Higher without blocking the semi good sets ...

I suspect it is mostly to stay in rhythm, to continue playing like they would against any other team. Also, once you start fake blocking, pulling off the net or even not blocking at all, the other team likely change their tactics, too.
Some teams do try to pull off the block against Nuss but she is actually a very good hitter and will power hit when you pull. She is even better at shots which is why teams with switch to serving Kloth , keeps the block rhythm

Very true. If simply pulling off the net were the key to stopping her, Nuss would never have made it this far in her career.
