Question for Gloria-- if some of my two-strand twists have loose areas in them, will they eventually form tight, smooth locs? I will be at 6 months next week. Thank you, Alexis, for your gentle disposition.
I've binge watched like at least 20 to 30 of your videos today. Thanks for all of the help information and positive energy. I just started on the 17th and I am happy to add more tips from your videos so I can have fun loc journey like you.
Thank you so much for leaving this comment. I’m so happy you found these videos helpful and I’m thankful you’ve binged so many videos!!! Sending you all the love in the world and wishing you the happiest journey possible. Please keep me updated 😊🎉💕
I really don’t have a schedule… I just listen to my hair when it needs to be washed. And I retwist my hair once a month… one month it’s in the beginning of the month, and the next time it may be at the end of the month, and the next month, the middle of the month… Idk if that’s bad or not. I use water and castor oil. My hair loves it
It’s never bad to follow your own path and listen to your hair. I’m actually very inspired by this comment! Thanks so much for being here and sharing your approach 😍😍😍
Hello Pretty Lady! Your locs look amazing the color is still on point and they are growing very nicely. The content as always is just what we need! I have been semi-freeforming for about the last six months or so. The difference is amazing and totally worth waiting between retwist. Thank you for being here and helping us while we growing with and into the journey! Always peace and blessings... and I hope you have a loved filled Thanksgiving!

I can’t wait to get to where you are cause your locs look beautiful. Congrats on your dissertation coming from a fellow grad student.
Hello my fellow grad student!!! 😍 thank you so much for being here and congratulations on your new journey. I’m so happy you find this channel useful. It means a lot! Welcome to the family 💖
I rarely use products now What I start doing is take a shower without a shower cap, it lightly dampen your hair and also steam it and that helps with the fluidity of my locs. I also don’t use oil on a regular basis, I only oil it for my usual Loc appointment (when it’s time for a retwist) since oil can be heavy on your locs and it’s cause dryness so I rely on my natural oil that our scalp produces and it helps!
Love it!!! Thanks so much for sharing your loc maintenance routine!!! I think I’ll be able to adopt something similar once my locs grow out and mature a bit more 💖

Hey Alexis, I always enjoy watching your beaming positive personality, along with the informative content you share. Congratulations on your phenomenal advancement!!! My question for Gloria is; What is the best types of shampoos & conditioners should I use for gray hair. I’m about 75% gray, the front of my hair is totally silver/gray. I have very soft dense hair. I started my locs with shoulder blade length hair 21 months ago. My journey hasn’t been so bad, I just want to keep my hair as shiny & bright as possible.
Hi, Ms. NaTarsha!!!! Thank you so much for being here and leaving some love. Your question is phenomenal and I will definitely add it to the Q&A with Gloria. It sounds like your locs are absolutely beautiful!!! 💖 Sending you all the love in the world
Hi Alexis another beautiful video. Locs are very uncomplexed. Don't want to use the word simple but they are. Clean and separated is all they need. I spray mine with rose water, rosemary water and aloe vera juice. As for Ms. Gloria I need her information as I plan on coming to the ATL in Dec. So she can wash and retwist my hair. Have a blessed week. Agape.
Hi, Ms. Jane! It’s always good to hear from you. I agree with you completely. I still haven’t tried aloe vera juice yet but I definitely will. So happy to hear that you will be in Atlanta soon! Gloria’s website is www.gloriousstylez.com 💖
I haven’t been on your channel in awhile and wow you just look beautiful and your skin is glowing. Your smile and laugh are captivating. So youthful and pretty and your locs are gorgeous. Ok Gloria why aren’t my locs staying locked at the roots. I use a loc ing gel for my retwist s that I am still having to retwist weekly because some just come all the way out and majority are not loc ing at the roots. Roots always loose and nappy. I’m almost 4 months in. I don’t use a lot of products on my hair just some natural oils to keep it moist. I no longer use rose water because water makes my hair nappy. When I retwist using loc gel I clip at the root with clips and also midway then I sit under a heating cap for around a hour and a half. I always keep my hair wrapped when laying down in a silk scarf and bonnet. What’s your solution for me?

I can’t wait to ask Gloria your question! I’m so excited because I was recently having the same concerns. I know she’ll be able to offer some great solutions!
Place your clips at the end of the new growth/ what you retwisted. If you put it too close to your roots it’ll have a hard time drying and staying in place.
Question for Gloria, I’m diesel mechanic, have been growing locs for 9 months, keep my hair covered at work all day with a durag or bonnet, my hair is always dry at the end 12 hour shift. How can I keep it moisturized.
Or rose water and put oil on it. My favorite is castor oil Also it may be the type of wrap you have. It may be soaking up the moisture out of your hair
Question for gloria- what are the best oils and shampoos to use. Im hopefully going to start my locs next month. Im excited but nervous at the same time.

Question for Gloria > I have been diagnosed with CCCA and I am now 10 months locs. My dermatologist told me not to cut my hair because CCCA is manageable with locs with my monthly treatments I get at the office. What will be some great tips from a Locitican perspective on how often I should get a Retwist or detox No Retwist?
Question for Gloria : I am 5 months into my loc journey using the braid loc method. I am seeing a tremendous amount of progress and loving it. However, I am only seeing a lot of budding in my back locs rather than my front. Behind my ears my locs are also budding. My fear is that the very front locs will be thinner than the sides and the back. Also, I love wearing head wraps as styles. Is this bad? Tysm- loved your video 🤍🌱 very informative New subbie 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you so much for your help Alexis ❤️ Love all the way from South Africa . Question for Gloria - I’ve started my loc journey 2,5 months ago with 2 strand twists . It has been unraveling a lot at the ends but not at the roots. Will that slow down my loc’ing process ? And what methods can I use to stop it from unraveling ? I’ve tried gel , it doesn’t work . I’ve tried rubber bands they were working however they were pulling my hair , so I decided to take them out.
Hello beautiful!!! Thank you so much for being here. I hope to visit South Africa one day 💖 congratulations on your new journey. I’ll be sure to pass your question along to Gloria during the Q&A 😍🥳
So I am less than one month loc'd and started with 2 strand twist. My natural hair was arm pit length. I am used to wearing 2 strand twist but not with the intent of locing. Ok so my question is this... at night I pull my "locs" back in a ponytail and place the scrunchy down the length of my hair to stretch a bit and tie down with a scarf or bonnet. This is honestly to keep the appearance of my length. The rest of the day my hair is out and uninhibited/free. Is this detrimental in that it prevents my hair from locing, budding and bunching by putting that one scrunchy, again down the length of the loc for those overnight hours?
Hi 👋🏽 I just started my loc journey today and my hair type is thin and soft so my locs look to be unraveling at the ends and I want to touch them but I know I can’t what do you suggest because they’re sticking up in there frizzy on the ends because my hair is so soft and it won’t hold curl
Can I use Rice water( Black Castor Oil peppermint oil Jojoba Oil) everyday as a Moisturizer everyday? ....I'm 3 weeks into the Journey of Starter Locs.
@@vhix64 I'll Dilute the Rice Water and add it only to my scalp and keep a good moisturize routine....Rice Water is Pure so you can Cut it with more water
Please please stop using all these oils it’s way too much plus the oils just end up on your pillow and hands. I have been loc for a year and a half I wake up I use a bottle filled with bottled water and a little spray bottle conditioner or aloe, spray lightly not soaking my head where it’s running down my face or back ,that’s it and massaging my scalp my locs are so light not weighted down nothing is on my pillowcase. I shampoo and condition once a month and don’t twist my hair I separate my locs and wrap the stray hair around the bottom of my hair, this keeps less stress on my loc hair from any thinning out from twisting
Very helpful reminders! Scalp scratching and hand in hair syndrome are my issues but I'm trying hard to improve.
Thanks so much Sis!
