Currently what he did wasn't "calculated" at all. There are a lot of harmony errors. Like parrallels 5th and 8th, ... So yes strictly speaking, this isn't counterpoint and this isn't a fugue, because a fugue must be in counterpoint. (Counterpoint have to respect the rulles of harmony, if it was that easy to do counterpoint there would not be book of 500pages just on that subject, and I did an analysis of a Bach's fugue for my students, this was already nearly 10 pages of pure music theory just to explain how he made the first few bars of that fugue.) But yes, I know that for mainstream people, it doesn't matters. But when you call something a counterpoint and when you said that Bach would have written it like that.. Uh no.. he wouldn't.. Just look at the fugue from BWV1001(or BWV539 it's the same but for organ and with an additional voice) or the fugue of BWV582 to understand how his fugue are made, it's way more complicated that what's shown here. It's not just putting two-three melodies together, they've to be in harmony and to respect a lot more things.

I'm not sure but I hope you appreciate how insanely well you educate. I've played music for over 20 years without ever learning how. And these concepts make immediate and deep sense to me. So you take someone who has never heard the terms, and from how you've broken it down I could totally apply these principles to my own playing. That's not as much my talent as it is your excellent tutelage, man.
This was a great video! Though if you were truly writing a fugue as Bach would, the prime would be repeated in each of the voices, and the voices would go into a counterpoint melody after finishing the subject (prime). Also, it would commonly change keys from tonic to dominant in each different introduction of the subject. Basically, a fugue is even more complex than described here. This is technically a passacaglia and not a fugue (I'm pretty sure), because the prime is in the bass the whole time, and the variations occur above it.

That’s 4 part choral writing. Which would mean you couldn’t play power chords. Not useful for metal heads. The idea here is to adapt an old concept in a new way. It’s not about upholding every detail
