I can't fully grasp why there's so few reviews of this 12". Shame it was never released in lossless digital format. This is arguably Monolake's best release I often keep coming back to - well in terms of atmosphere, which for me is the most important thing, it surely is, but in fact it's got everything you ever wanted from a techno record - dark, deep, hypnotising, but elegant never ending swirling synths, the ominous bass line which keeps things moving, bird-like noises, most epic intro possible, and the most fitting title you could come up with, I always have an image of that colour when I listen to it. Both sides are stellar, and the B side is equally as intense. Surfing lone streets at night with your music player has never been that good. Interesting fact, I heard that Robert himself doesn't fancy this release much nowadays, perhaps due to some "artist's perfectionism" syndrome: _"...yes, indeed a strange release, but we had fun doing it. The Prophet VS was new, the weed was fine, and who cares if a bassdrum is panned fully left. There are a lot of things going on in these two tracks, but certainly nothing one could call a groove."_
Classic Chain Reaction and Basic Channel are the two best labels ever. Shaped Techno for what we know it as today!
