That was the best conversation about 'woke' I've heard to date. Clarifying indeed!
The mention of 'Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy' (aka Factitious disorder imposed on another) was particularly insightful. We are seeing this en masse with so-called 'trans moms'.

I think I knew this without be able to describe it. Born in Los Angeles 1956, raised there and this was in the water so to speak. Ronald Reagan’s drive to Governor pushed back quick a bit. But they pushed back in return. I left then and eventually became a Christian and then a Catholic Christian.

Noelle, do bishops understand the damage they are doing by embracing wokeness? The pope just had a half naked homosexual dance in St. Peter's Square

Now I understand why my Catholic pastor is all love, love, love almost every single sermon. He rattles off endless meaningless phrases using the word love. He has yet to teach that Jesus says: If you love me, keep my commandments. He never unpacks the part about loving God with your whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. Nor does he teach the Ten Commandments and say anything that might be practical and helpful for leading a wholesome life that honors God's purposes. I'm personally exhausted from this pastor's oppressive omission of the Good News. What this pastor's done and the priests in nearby parishes parrot is totally demoralizing. One day a totally woke book appeared in the adoration chapel. The dominating people still remaining in my parish are of a woke mentality. Listening to your presentation, I'm inclined to think that my pastor was taught to spread a woke/communist/and an anything goes moral mentality within the Church. This priest has definitely stirred up an insecure venue for practicing one's faith. I've read AA--1025, Goodbye Good Men, Infiltration and many lives of saints, the Holy Bible, church history, books by Father John Hardon and Bishop Sheen, catechisms, and the Didache....yet what's going on really, really hurts. They use these tactics to disarm their opposition.

I formerly went to a parish were the priest’s ideaology trumped his Catholic faith, it really poisoned his ministry as a priest. It was truly tragic. My wife and I eventually left and found an authentic Catholic parish were we found to be happy to be a part of. With a priest who is not confused about his role as pastor.

Why does it seem that, at least a large group if not the majority of Catholic Bishops in the West, can't see this? Or if they are seeing it why do so few have the guts to speak on it? It's like, here we are in the great corporeal & spiritual battle of our time, and the Church is sitting on the sidelines arguing about the color of the curtains in the rectory ... something like that. I'm a Catholic deacon myself and this frustrates the heck out of me ... I'm not saying the Church is on the wrong side of history of course, just that it seems afraid to lead, afraid to rock the political boats, afraid to hurt any feelings, afraid to trust the providence of the Almighty, etc ... I'm told by superiors to be "pastoral" and I agree with that, but to me that means caring enough to speak the Truth even when many (even among the Catholics) don't want to hear it ...
    Thanks for what you're doing!
