Not mentioned is the loss of Joshua on the beach at La Paz, Mexico. Joshua was rescued by Americans. What you see today is a complete rebuild and refit, including spars and rig. Not provided is an explanation WHY Bernard Moitessier abandoned his famous yacht after the grounding.
Great film, I saw Suhali hard standing ashore at the Southampton Boat Show years ago. Joshua still looks pretty slippery, shame the camera couldn't have backed up a little when they were alongside as it would have been interesting to see the rig comparison. Maybe next time!
Hey Don, whatever happened to AS Boat snd the 2022 Joshua class in the ggr? Did the first 3 boats ever get built? I'm assuming the company went under. Any plans to have another go at the Joshua's for the next ggr?
