APBT scared of big animals? Thats a joke. Theres literally videos of game dogs working 1 ton bulls. Getting knocked 20-30 feet in the air only to get up and do it again. Sounds like you got sone petbull or bully , not a real game dog
I hear what he’s saying about the apbt but thats not my experience, if you get them excited for the hold they never let go. Knowing the bt history id imagine that would be similar but also at best but id expect the opposite. His dogs do look closer to the ol school, smaller game bred bt thought. Maybe they’re different 🤷🏻♂️? Love that he uses the smaller dogs. They look fantasic. Ive owned a few but ive been off the apbt and bt since every one i could find was some massive mastiff looking thing. This is what they’re supposed to be! Also love a silent dog. Some people like barking, and for long range (pre gps) that makes sense, but a silent l, small , game dog is a thing of beauty!
Real game apbt gonna hit dat pig and not let go if not the first second strick every time 😂 and pit bulls range from 35 - 50 pounds mfs really not dat big but solid enough for a hog playin 😂 go get dat redboy, jock,Eli or Colby watch the magic my guy
You obviously never went hog hunting. Apbt's aren't good for it because they clamp onto legs or whatever they can grab onto. Where bull terriers go for the head. The best hog hunting dog is the Doggo Argentine imo. Pits get too distracted by the other dogs and during a hunt get so excited that they'll grab onto a dog on its team completely defeating the purpose on a hunt. If we were talking about dog fighting you are dead on. But hunting hogs is a different ballgame.
I've seen good pitbull catch dogs. With the pits, you've got to get a game dog that isn't dog aggressive. That's why some hog hunters use bull terriers and Doggo dogs. If I had to pick the best hog dog , it would be the Doggo. It's just harder to find a game pit that isn't dog aggressive.
The AmPit Bulls he has seen go for the legs and not the head or ears of a hog, tend to think twice about going up against such a big animal, and are less game than the Bull Terriers? I don't know, man. He sounds like has seen some AmBullies or something. When it comes to being game, there doesn't seem to be any breed more game than the AmPit Bull. I wonder how many AmPit Bulls he has been around or where he would get his from. If they were actually AmPit Bulls, maybe he has just gotten the misfortune of running into bad examples.
@@DogumentaryTV I get what you're saying, but to be fair to me, I did say "AmBullies or something." Though, some Bullies aren't as bulky and stubby as the usual ones. I definitely don't think he is unable tell the difference between an exotic Bully and an AmPit Bull. Maybe the dogs he has seen are AmStaffs or Staffies. Or maybe he has seen bad examples of AmPit Bulls. I have no idea how many he has seen in action. All I am saying is that Pit Bulls thinking twice about a hog doesn't sound like the norm.
It's actually common around the world for apbts to get slightly negative reviews in boar hunting communities compared to ebts, except for in the eastern USA where they are obviously the catch dog of choice. Possibly they have better catch dog lines down there, but elite gamebred lines and petbull lines alike are not that great. At least inconsistent. Ebts are praised globally for catch work and especially prized in crosses.
Keep up the good work with the videos! I was just wondering about this very topic concerning bull terriers. Your channel has been a godsend in pursuing knowledge about any and all dog breeds.
Thanks for this video. There are a few people that use Bull Terriers or crosses for hog hunting. They tend to last longer than Pits in hot weather and less dog aggressive when hunting in teams. I see a lot of people complaining about the man’s personal experience. Go use whatever helps you in your area. 🤷🏽♂️
Where are you located, just asking because i have to rehome my dog,hes smart , people tell me he belongs on a farm ,,hes a bull terrier about the size you say 45 pounds maybe 50. Just checking, because he needs to be rehomed ,thank you
Danny is a great guy with some really good ebt have been lucky enough to get my hands on one of his pups and am very happy with him true dogman right here.
He never used the word game to compare them. I know from experience breeding both not just getting on here and talking shit about a subject I know nothing about. APBTs I love them they are fearless I've breed game dogs for 11 years. But they don't have half the prey drive of my English Bull Terriers . That girl you see in my profile pic prey drive thru the fucking roof and dosen't feel pain
@@oncall21 Anything can bail, you want a catch dog to reliably catch and not let go. If a dog "can" bail, it might bail when you least expect it/don't want it. Putting you at risk. They shouldn't have any "bail" in their vocabulary. I'm saying this as someone who got a bull arab that bailed once. It was a dud. It is not what you want from a bull arab. Bailing is just a dog being scared and unsure of its ability to commit to a hold. It is good for a catahoula or rhodesian ridgeback or coonhound or BMC to keep themselves safe and bail until backup arrives, a bull arab is not supposed to be that kind of dog (cur), it is supposed to be a reliable lugger like a dogo argentino, bull terrier, pitbull, etc.
@@RickyBobby42069 the bull arab I currently own is not dog aggressive at all. Like under no circumstances would it ever fight a dog, it would submit to a Bichon frise, let alone a cas. However I have owned others that were dog aggressive and known of others (even read quite a few news stories where they killed other dogs). Mind you, even they weren't "rank driven" or liable to feud and quarrel with their pack members, if they are dog aggressive it is more likely to be the predatory kind, and it's really up to to raise a dog to know what is and isn't prey. I would expect a BA to be fine with your CAS.
Lot of pitbull doggers getting into their feelings fighting and hunting are two different things allow other breeds to have special traits too. What the man is saying is what works for him and I totally understand his point
Look man, I don't know what the hell you're breeding there, but you keep saying "Bull Terrier", but that ain't no purebred Bull Terrier. Don't bastardize the breed. Don't call it "expanding on the good and bad". Love the full grown English Bull Terrier for what it is, the baddest dog on Earth !!! 😁😁😁😂😂😂
I am so glade that you explained the difference between bull terriers and pit bulls I have had both and I love my Minneture bull terriers that I have now totally different dogs
Those are some mighty fine looking bull terriers. Also, as usual, swell camera work and video quality.

I've never personally seen bull terriers like his. Usually they're much rounder like he said
great looking dogs. Thanks for the video
Cuz He actually uses them for work
Not hounds those are curs and it’s funny that everyone down south hunting big hogs use apbt and bull dogs

He knows. Lol he's ran with my eli dog and anytime he got to the bay pig was stopped. He loved him. He just hyping up his breed. 😂
I’ve seen a lot of pure game dogs that are big. Coming in the 70’s and 60’s. It’s not common but also not rare

Scott Bulldogs are just as game as Pits. Dogo Argentino is the best for hunting

I thought pitbulls would be great catch dogs, but if it's going to wrestle rather than latch on, then I guess not.
The Bull Terrier skull and how they use it is something else. Miss my EBT. I'd love to have another. Only have a Presa now.

How’s their temperament around other dogs and people?
Good with other dogs very high prey drive and good with everyone so far very happy
Is he implying Apbts are less game than a bull terrier 😂 a apbt will grab a hog then grab the bull terrier right after
Stop dat boi
Hes not implying that, ebts are similar to apbts, but with a stronger grip

That may be the problem. You want a dog focused on the game, not the other dogs he's hunting game with.
Do some homework my friend, but nope.
There's a reason fighting breeds ended up in smaller more compact sizes. More head and less target
First view. I am your fan from India, mate. I loved your coverage of our native Bully Kutta. Keep it up.
I know a dude that mixes his hog hunting bull terriers with Jagdterriers
Nice cross 👍🏻
Badger Terrier, great dog can do it all ...pp ...hunt ....cuddle...climb trees ....a cat's worst nightmare 😉
Had a pup off that pitbull
All bark no bite
Man’s put a lot of thought into his pastime!
arent they lurchers ?

Bad ass work brother, super happy with my pup I got from you.
No info on the location why bull Terriers size is an advantage.
Too vague.
Great vid Zeke! Really interesting video about the dogs that hog hunt! 👍
I also heard that people use the miniatures more than the standard bull terriers
@@905royals actually, they are not the standard, and the Miniatures are completely different
Beatiful dogs. Beautiful video work. This is the only dog I was scared of as a child, now I consider getting one some day
The only game dog that exist is the american pitbull terrier
