I have one these. A big friendly beast. It needs love and being ridden to stay happy. Can't let her sit or the finicky carburetor (California emissions) get clogged up and needs cleaning. I have owned for 34 years and still love it. Ride on the forest roads and deserts in So California USA. We don't have a sheep crossing problem here in So Cal! Thanks for the fun Video!
Exactly, you nailed it. And doing it well too. The old four strokes can’t be beat for reliability. I love the older XR’s and XL’s, I wish I could find an XR350R
When I was a teenager in the 1980's, my friend thought it would be amusing to see me kick start his SP 500, it kicked back! Respect to you for competing in the Paris- Dakar Rally!! 👌👍 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Really great video! Love that scenery and the bike. I used to have a 1982 SP500 and I rode it in the mountains just like you did in this video. It was a great bike, very nice to ride and plenty of power for the mountains.
Nice video & very nice bike. An advice regarding the "free wheeling" for a longer distance: I don't know how the gear bearings of this Suzuki are lubricated. The gear bearings of my little Honda XL250K3 are lubricated by the oil pump from the engine. This means, when the engine is not running, the gear bearings are no longer supplied with oil. This is not a problem for a short period, but might become a problem when doing so for a longer distance. ... well, just my two cents ;-) Anyway, the bike is really great. Salut Mark
Bonjour. The gear box is lubricated under pressure from the oil pump, but there is not too much risk with roller or needle bearings. But many years ago, I seized the primary gear box axle on a Honda SL 125 ! At left, it is running on a plain bearing.
Yes, you are absolutely right. Roller bearings don't have that risk. It's only if you have sleeve or bushing bearings. So, you are very aware about this issue. How could I had doubts ... :-)
Nice video again and a quite interesting bike. Thought about to buy one last year but couldn't find one in acceptable condition to refurbish, so I've bought and refurbished a Yamaha XT 250, which is a wonderful bike but misses the plus of power the SP 370 has. Just thought on this missed power as I thought you driving up the alps, must be fun :)
Hello. The 370 SP is more easy to handle than the TS400, and I prefer the wide torque band of the four stroke than brutal power of the 400. And the four stroke is a little bit lighter than the two stoke ! I just baught a 1973 TS 250 last week, a future video to come.
Hello. Which bike ? A Suzuki 370 SP with a motocross RM front fork and a hand made fuel tank for long stages. A refueling truck was scheduled mid way of very long ones (more than 700 kilometers sometimes)
Moto rouge SP ?? La moto des Sapeurs-pompiers ?? Un modèle un peu oublié mais qui , remis au milieu de la scène grâce à ta vidéo, retrouve de la sympathie ! T’es quand même gonflé de la démarrer pied nu ....
Had one new in '78, loads of power, shaky handling. Everybody that rode it crashed it. Had some white knuckle moments trying to keep up with my brothers GS-750 on full knobbies.

Drove one of these in 82 .It was crazy .Power delivery was fantastic .Wish they would start making a retro version .Would sell like hot cakes.
I keep saying that too, old school tech for cheap, I’d buy one in a heartbeat
A cafe racer with like more rode bike version off this would sell and be a direct competitor to the Ktm 390
just bought the 1979 sp370 , it's in need of a lot of work but I love it
Me too :) time to get to work
Beautiful video of a great classic bike doing exactly what its made for!!

I love your videos. All of them.
Subscribed! I just bought a cheap DR370 1979, needs some work but happy I have it now:)

My mate had 1 30 years ago I absolutely loved riding it beautiful bike
amazing scenery and great old bike, thank you for sharing and I like the crazy sound affects.
I had one of these back in the early 80s. I rode it to work, trail rode it, did enduros on it, Great bikes, I'd be happy to have another......
Une autre production exceptionnelle. Grand vélo et paysages à couper le souffle. Je vous remercie!
Really enjoy all your videos the bikes the scenery everything cant wait for some new ones! The Pink floyd video was cool to watch too!
I just bought one of these things. I love it. The power is fantastic!
Loved mine, apart from the 6 volt electrics. Wish Suzuki would make them again. Just as they were with no modes or mod cons.
Awesome video looks like some fun trails
Lovely bike!😍
Kick start and drum brakes; macho even if you aren't a guy. I salute you. 👏
Great bike and great video!
dream bike

I had one of these and loved it. KLR 650 now, but find it too heavy.
I also own a SP370 - i love it!
How is the riding compared to two stroke Suzuki like TS 175 /250 /400?

@@micoumeekoo Thank you - I am looking forward to the new video. TS250 is a beauty!
You meant TS 185, not 175.
You must have a good collection now days?
Hello. Please see my answer to Ian. Thanks
hi
which bike was that in the paris dakar?

@@micoumeekoo wow im definitely buying one next week now, £1350. keep up the videos, might see you in france next summer if everything goes to plan 👍
Interesting "con" trails.
