      How reliable are those 4.0tt with a tune

      @@traybutts4425 Once you address the oil screen issue (remove it -- it clogs and deprives the turbos of oil, causing them to fail), they're fairly bulletproof under 1000hp. A few people have experienced failures due to failed direct injectors and/or water methanol systems failures, but the internals appear to be pretty stout.

      @@cdcoulson nice can you tell the dealership you want screens removed

    • @cdcoulson
      @cdcoulson 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@traybutts4425 Oil screen takes about 8-10 hours of labor to remove, so no small task, and I honestly doubt that a dealership would remove it outright. Audi's on, like, revision G of this screen, so they're convinced that it's needed for whatever reason, but the newer revisions still clog. Aftermarket turbocharger suppliers require proof that the screen has been removed, otherwise they won't warranty the turbochargers, so, that should tell you all you need to know. FWIW, where the oil screen is installed is two machined surfaces with a recess where the oil screen sits. The oil screen LOOKS like an o-ring that's required to seal, but it isn't. The machined surfaces seal regardless of whether the screen/o-ring is there or not, so we just remove it.

      On the stock s6 and s7 you are able to run full e85 with either the Dyno Spectrum or IE tunes

    This may sound stupid but why haven't I seen anyone install a blowout valve

    • @Daily5280
      @Daily5280  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not stupid. There’s no one that making blow off for the 4.0t… the system is designed to recirculate the excess boost. Hence the diverted value. Not to say that it’s something that can not be done.. it just mean list of modifications

    I got a apr stage one s6 and they discontinued stage 2 like due to pressure from EPA. From what I saw online, downpipes and cooling are also recommended for stage 2 as well. Most places that sell after market downpipes even the catted ones make you sign a waiver saying that you acknowledge it is for race use only and not street racing. As per my findings the closest after market downpipes to stock ones are the magnaflow who claim that youll get better performance but still be able to pass emissions. HPA and AMS have catted downpipes as well but did not make that claim. For cooling people recommended a divorced cooling system from Merc or AMS. As for turbos Ive seen a few options from SRM, JHM, turbosystems or just a stock rs7 turbo. Its nice that even to this day new aftermarket parts are being developed for this platform. I did the JHM turbo filter reroute kit which should help with the turbo issues. 034 motorsports have been developing aftermarket mounts for this platform since last year and hopefully should be ready soon.
