It’s mind blowing that, in less than one year, they recorded no less than seven classics: Let it Be, Get Back, Long and Winding Road, Something, Balad of John and Yoko, Here Comes the Sun and Come together. Amazing group. My total respect.
It’s only been several weeks since I’ve seen the 8 hour Get Back documentary on Blu-Ray, and after having seen it, I now understand why The Beatles kept the Let It Be film from release. The first two days of recording seemed to go okay, but on the third day, January 6, 1969 is when things began to fall apart. I think Ringo was right when he said they were 4 guys who really loved each other, and they didn’t like to fight argue with each other, and they certainly didn’t want to put out a product that wasn’t top notch. The Beatles took their legacy very seriously, which is why they called it quits after producing Abbey Road.

Let it be was actually recorded before abbey road (except for “I me mine” and the overdubs on “let it be”), but was released after abbey road was done. The reason it wasn’t released before abbey road was because it was unfinished and was still in the process of being mixed. @GenericNintendoKid Nothing regarding The Beatles is plain and simple. Being only 13 when he joined John's skiffle group he was younger than the other guys and not taken seriously. He did not come up with Beatle worthy songs until mid 1965 when Help was released. I Need You and You Like Me Too Much are just as catchy as most of the songs John and Paul were coming up with at the time. The first album that was very difficult to record due to personal problems between them was the Beatles (White Album). Coincidentally, it was the first album where Yoko was present. Coincidence?? I don't think so. She's the reason they broke up. Actually, that was John's fault. She shouldn't have been there.
Well gee...if you truly believe your reasoning...then you must give Yoko all the CREDIT for The White Album being the single greatest album the beatles recorded in terms of sales and popular acceptance. It went #1 extraordinarily fast. But I doubt a disingenuous Yoko hater like yourself would be willing to give her credit, you just want to give her blame because your favorite band broke up. In the real world the sword cuts both ways, in your world the sword only cuts with your narrative.
They didn't have any interest in it all. It sounded lame and half assed when they were rehearsing it in Get Back. That was a smart move that George made, saving it for his own solo endeavor.
I guess John felt enthusiastic about trying a new style on guitar (lap steel). That was probably the only reason he put any effort into it. Most other George songs he showed no interest at all.
So George left The Beatles (briefly) because John slagged I Me Mine (George even decided right then and there, that's the title of I me mine revenge book I mean, my eventual biography). John was of course right.

Just watch “Get Back” and you’ll know that everything was just peachy between them. Great album, too, their best.
Abbey Road really was their swan song. Let It Be was kind of a damp squib after that.
But, Let Be, or Get Back was recorded before Abbey Road, released after.
So Abbey Road is actually their swan song. ✌️

Harrison alleged John and Paul had no interest in "all things must pass", yet they did 35 takes.
They didn't have any interest in it all. It sounded lame and half assed when they were rehearsing it in Get Back. That was a smart move that George made, saving it for his own solo endeavor.
The Beatles did more than 100 takes of Not Guilty!
Isn’t it a pity and Let it down. George was on fire. But they chose a subpar For You Blue for the album. Not sure how.
I guess John felt enthusiastic about trying a new style on guitar (lap steel). That was probably the only reason he put any effort into it. Most other George songs he showed no interest at all.
I wish we could have the original Get Back album
