- Learn how to yoyo - learn how to throw a sleeper, how to wind a yoyo, and how to deal with common mistakes. These yoyo tips will help you get ready to start learning tricks.

Step 1: Make a slip-knot for your finger by pulling the string below the knot through the pre-tied loop at the top the string.
Step 2: Put the slip-knot on your middle finger between the first and second knuckle.
Step 3: With your palm facing up, position the yoyo in your hand with the string going from your yoyo finger over the yoyo.
Step 4: Bend your arm to make a muscle, then release the yoyo by extending your arm, making sure not to drop your hand too much or the yoyo will hit the ground.
Step 5: As the yoyo sleeps at the bottom of the string, turn your hand over and tug on the string to bring the yoyo back to your hand.
Step 6: Enjoy a lifetime of yoyo awesomeness!

And thats the only reason that scares me from practicing yoyo tricks even though I like to play with it too much.
I was at a career fair for my university and one of the many swag I got was a cheap yoyo, which threw me into this idea: "What if I got a better yoyo? I know playing with the cheap versions of things can sour the experience for oneself so let me circumvent this by getting a real one!"
Now here I am, learning all the intricacies I never spotted. You also saved me money with the finger protection!

I remember I bought a yoyo at a simple store.
I spended about 2 months trying to mount the yoyo to perform the Brain Scrambler. When I got The Sage, it took me 2 minutes to finally mount it and some more minutes to kinda finish the trick (this happened yesterday). Today I'm almost mastering this trick.

So, my wife bought me a Duncan Imperial yoyo and I watched this video and the video on how to wind up the yoyo. After about an hour, I can successfully sleep and return the yoyo. Thanks SO much for those two videos, it REALLY helped me pick this up quickly!

This videos are great and very detailed and informative. I have never used an unresponsive yo-yo so I guess never a real yo-yo I have yo yoed since I was a kid. I even learned a lot watching this basic video. As far as the crooked throw and the spaghetti string. I have placed an order off your site as a result of these videos and will try to take the hobby more serious. I was going to go straight for the ethos I believe but I decided let me do things right and work my way up there first. So I bought the fizz and also the starter pack that includes the three yo-yos.

Nice video, I recently bought my first yoyo after having so much fun with my niece's cheap little kid toy. After about a day I managed to figure most of this stuff out on my own but I really wish I would've watched this video first, it certainly would've helped! So I just wanted to show my appreciation for your channel real quick here so here I go: About 10-11 years ago I got my very first „proper“ yoyo that actually had a rotating axle as a birthday present. Back then the mere concept of a yoyo that could spin on the end of the string was very new and exciting so I got quite into it and learned a couple of basic tricks such as rock the baby, eiffel tower and even loops and around the world. I got so interested in it that soon i got my parents to buy me a new yoyo with a butterfly design so I could try to learn the basics of string tricks. That exact yoyo stuck with me for a good 4-5 years in which I learned almost all the tricks in the little pamphlet that came with the yoyo (And looking back to it now half the tricks I didnt do properly lol). At some point I just kinda stopped doing it and I cant even remember why, but fast forward to early 2018 when I stubled over this exact video in my recommendations and got curious again. So I dug out my old my old yoyo and noticed that most of the stuff I learned almost 5 years ago stuck with me and that moment really reignited my love for yoyoing again, so I immediately went online in search for a new yoyo more suitable for modern play. I decided to order a canon and a flight so I could try out 4a and 5a as well. Since then yoyoing has been my absolute favorite pastime and I play almost every day of the week and I’m loving every minute of it.
So in conclusion, I just wanted to thank you for reintroducing me to the wonderful world of yoyos and for all of your great tutorials that helped me step up my game immensely. Keep being as awesome as you are and good luck for whats to come.

I still remember the day I got my first magic yoyo and thought I was doing something wrong until I realized that I had somehow gotten a knot in the first ten minutes. Nowadays, in my prime being able to do tricks like Level 100 gyrados and drift, I think back to those simpler times and kinda wish I could go back to the enjoyment I used to have learning.

try closing the yoyo a little looser, looser you close, less responsive. İf you close the yoyo too tight, it may come back right after your strong throws.

Back in grade 5 when i was 11 (now I'm 26 n half) my teacher made me sit in an all boys group for the entire year (I'm a girl) coz i wasn't very social maybe becoz I'm an only child and the girls didn't talk to me a lot. The boys talked about wrestling (john cena and stuff which i loved coz my male cousins watched them and so did i), pokemon and other anime and ofcourse yoyos. I never learnt how to swing one effortlessly but playing with the boys gave me alot of memories. They were so cool!!😢😢😢 Lately I've been thinking about learning some cool skills and yoyos came to my mind. So i typed in yoyo skills in the youtube search box and your channel was the first one i found like 5 mins ago lol and here i am telling you the story of my life😂😂.
