Just...a masterpiece. Christy, I swear to whoever that you deserve every god damn piece of success and happiness you have. Your vlogs are the biggest, most lovely-magical-cozy-cute-interesting-fun videos out there. Thank you for another gem!
Priory; Trade paperback Jonathan Strange; Paperback Trades are what you get initially when a big publication is released. Paperbacks are published (usually) a few months after Trades :) Loving the video Christy

I had so much fun with our last dark academia themed video that I wanted to make another one! Frolicking in the rain is one of those meme-able "Expectations vs Reality" moments. Just like taking a cold shower. When one is sweaty from exertion or high temps, the idea of a cold shower is so pleasing. But, inevitably, that "cold" becomes "lukewarm." Please take us with you when Dillon's bookstore opens in its newer location so we can see its "intended" splendor. ^J^
I recently just started Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. Really enjoying it so far. I’m on chapter 3, looks like you’re a bit ahead of me in the video. Happy reading.
@@christy-anne-jones may I ask does the book have any violence? I want to try reading this its sounds so different to what I usually read but the magic part sounds interesting, however are there violent parts? Im not sure I would want to read it if there are and they're too detailed :(
I remember it took my the longest time to finally read this book because it's size was so physically daunting. When I properly got into the story I ended up flying through it and now it's become one of my all-time favorites, as well. I've been meaning to re-read it for the last year or so, but I am once again daunted 😆. I'd recommend reading the Ladies of Grace Adieu, too, her collection of short stories, which include one or two set in the same world. She's such a brilliant writer.
It is! Or at least, it's an aesthetic within contemporary literature. Mostly books set in academic settings or themed around learning and academia, with dark undertones 😊
I love your videos!❤️🤗 I enjoy watching your videos and I derive inspiration from them! You inspire me to read more and work on writing! Thank you! 🙏❤️
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell has been on my book list for a while.. ever since I saw the TV adaptation on Netflix years ago. It's a really great show and I highly recommend it if you're ever searching for something new to watch.
I loved watching you organize your bookshelves! 🤗 Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is one of the books I'm intending to read soon so it was nice to hear your positive review 💕
Aw so lovely to hear about Adelaide, I used to love hanging out in Norwood 🥰😍 I've been meaning to get to Piransei and Jonathan Strange.. so many books to read! I loved your vlog!
Recently discovered your channel and working through some of your back catalogue. I’ve had Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell sitting on my shelves for so long, but might try to actually read it this year! As a former Adelaide girl, I loved seeing your trip to Norwood, and must get to Dillons bookshop next time I’m over visiting my mum. Love the vlogs, they are so relaxing.
Hello, Christy! I just started this book thanks to your recommendation and I'm loving it ❤ Really, just having a lot of fun reading it and laughing at Mr Norrell's antics 😂 The one thing that I could possible complain about is the weight. Chunky book indeed! My wirsts get so tired after a while 😅 Love your videos they are so nice and soothing, thanks for providing us with a warm and safe space to talk about what we love most: books. Much love from Mexico 😊
I am John Saxon from Geelong Victoria and I have only just found your channel and at the moment I am really really struggling with my mental health issues so thank you for this beautiful video and putting a smile on my face and thank you again for that please stay safe and enjoy your reading love John ❤️❤️❤️
Hello, John! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been struggling recently and I really hope you feel better soon. Take care and thank you so much 😊
4:37 I was just about to say how big it was! Here in Melbourne bookshops are quite small and cramped (at least the ones I've been to). Tbh I thought it would be the other way round 😅
I loved this vlog! Out of curiosity, what size is your tbr? I love that you often buy a book then start it straight away - I wish I did that more often, as the excitement about the book is highest at that point 😊
Potential SPOILERS for the ending of JS&Mr.N: I read "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell", because you mentioned it in other videos. And I loooved it so much. Thanks for this recommendation! Am I the only one who cried at the end? I know it isn't an ending that calls for tears necessarily, but idk... it was kinda bittersweet, at least imo.
I will save this to watch after my workday 🥰 I love a longgg Reading Vlog~ I will make myself a cup of hot chocolate to enjoy this video later~ love you so much, Christy!!!
Hi Christy! As a Perth girl who loves to read and write I am so inspired by your videos! I’m considering doing a masters in creative writing and was wondering where you did yours and if you enjoyed it? Thank you for your videos 💕
I read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell and I found it to be quite long-winded and obtuse. The pay-off at the end was minimal, though the writing itself was exquisite.
1,000 page book, don't think I'll be adding that book to my reading list, but sounds interesting. How does a book like that get published. Haven't been to Dillons bookstore in ages. I've always wanted to go to Matilda's bookshop. I used to live in Norwood, it was the first flat I had lived in on my own.
Hi Christie have you read the Ladies of Grace adieu, by Susanna Clarke. It's a Short story collection. I loved Piranesi and am about 300 pages through Jonathan Strange. and was told about this title the other day. Thank you for all the wonderful videos
You and your you tube has gotten me back into reading again and I am so grateful for that!!! I love books, and life…gets in the way! But taking time to read a really great book, fills my heart with joy!!! I recently listened to The invisible life of Addie LARue…..loved it!!! I want to get started on The Priory of the ORange Tree…actually physically reading it!! But wanted to ask if you ever read The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawke? Also looking forward to the House in the Cerulean Sea!!!
I might be the last one in the world to ask this but... what is actually dark academia? haha sorry! I see it everywhere, youtube, instagram but have no idea what it means! Love your harry potter reading glasses! cute.
I'm really sorry that I'm putting this comment. But can you please think about the way you end the video. That last frame with jelly fish really bothers me. I know it's just my fault and I'm sure not everyone feels that way. But I think having it at the end destroy all the nice cozy feelings that I get from your video☹️ I feel jellyfish is not connected to the video content. 🙈 Just don't get me wrong way. I absolutely enjoy your videos. I love them very much and they have helped me to get through some serious life phrases. ❤️

This is my absolute favourite book. Her short story collection is also amazing and is set in the same world as JS&MN.
