- Robert Muczynski (March 19, 1929 - May 25, 2010) was a Polish-American composer. Muczynski studied piano with Walter Knupfer and composition with Alexander Tcherepnin at DePaul University in Chicago, where he received both his Bachelor of Music degree and his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance.

Variation 10 so epic - เพลง
I played this piece in concert last December, unfortunately not recorded. Muczynsky deserves more attention, he wrote some affordable pieces for students, which gives them the opportunity to get familiar with a jazzy language, somehow bartokian at times, also with echoes from Barber, Ginastera..., but highly personal. In my opinion, works like his Toccata are masterpieces of the 20th century American piano repertoire, not to mention some of his chamber music pieces, quite interesting to my view.
I swear this is the most used theme in all of classical music
Dies Irae theme was used much moooore

Nice
A great set of variations with abundant variety. Not as virtuosic as Hamelin's, but that means us mere mortals have a chance of playing it!
More Paganini variations; nice!

Wow. from 5:22 to 5:28 is something you'd really expect to see in a neo-soul like song lol

Third variation sounds a bit like Zappa's G Spot Tornado.
Var.5 bears some similarities to Szymanowski's Op.1 No.2 Prelude
No wonder they're both Polish and they both borrow from Moniuszko on that harmonic progression but Muczynski certainly listened to Bill Evans.
