Hello, I really needed your waffling today, you are a treasure to me. We had to say goodbye to our 2 furbabies. Our Charlie had Kidney disease, late stage and had become very weak and our Cheddar developed liver disease and only had days before he would get real bad. They were brothers and we had these sweet kitties for 15 years. We were expecting Charlie’s passing but Cheddar took us by surprise. We let them go together on Thursday. I’ve been so lost so your video made my day.

Julie, I can’t believe it: that old red Sizzix machine was my very first big tool, also! I used it for years creating projects for cards & my classroom! It got tired, so when I saw another on clearance, I scooped it up! I have the old little red sidekick, too! I’m not sure what year that was but later I bought a Cuttlebug, then it wasn’t until I retired in 2015 that I bought a Sizzix Big Shot! I have all my machines, too! A little tool graveyard! Funny, haven’t thought about that in a long time! I like your little set of matching booklets & pockets today, very cute to tie them all together! We don’t want the fast track when crafting with you, all the chatter along the way is part of the package deal with you! I’m sorry your girls have been sick, I had mono in the 10th grade, was so sick I didn’t finish that year of school. I hope they get well quickly! Thank you for another fun hour! Erica❤
Hi Erica, we seem to have followed the same path with die cutting machines. I also had a red sidekick when they first came out and I broke it 😐 The girls were both back at school today. @@CameliaCraftsDesigns You’re so talented with a 12x12 piece of paper, I just sit & stare at them. We love our kiddos, but it’s really fab when they go off to school, or in my case, work!! The whole 2nd shift got laid off yesterday morning, because of work slowdown…🤬! He just lies around lazier than a sloth, wouldn’t think of helping with anything around the house. Sigh… One of the first things I bought were the lollipop letters, do you remember them! They were the smallest size, in a blue frame. I still have all my “original” dies, the rest in green, yellow & red frames. And you know what, they haven’t deteriorated at all! Whatever kind of rubber/plastic they used was really good. They still cut perfectly, but I don’t miss that old lever! That was hard work! Have a great week, alone! Erica❤️

As someone new to paper crafting, I get discouraged because everything is a little wonkey lol. I have found that keeping everything super straight as you go helps a lot. Today you said you have been collecting tools for 30 years, so I can see how you can make things look easy as you have a lot of practice. So I will keep that in mind. God bless XOX

Fascinating project! I too have the red Sizixx lever machine. Love it. Last fall I bought the thinlet adapter for it at a yard sale. BRAND NEW!!!! My first expensive tool was a Cuttlebug. Still have it and still love it.! I have replaced it once with a WRMK Evolution electric die cut machine but it doesn't use the thick steel dies. I just got a Gemini Jr because of my arthritis in my shoulders and hands and that will be great! But I still have my Cuttlebug for the thick steel dies. Sandi, BC Canada

You’re awesome and these projects are great! Please don’t feel the need to apologize for having a tool or product that others don’t. You bought it, use it. Period. Some are always jealous or feel entitled or just plain nasty. Those types don’t deserve an ounce of your energy, unless it’s to offer up a quick prayer on their behalf. Do you ever hear Jennifer McGuire or Tim Holtz saying, “If you don’t have a pair of scissors or a piece of paper…”?? Never! Tim uses long retired products he knows people can’t get because he has them and he’s going to use them. We are creatives. We can figure out alternatives. Or not. It’s up to the individual, not the creator to appease the masses that will never all be satisfied. You are a delight to watch and have so much to offer this community. Hi Julie, my first big craft buy was also the red Sizzix Machine! I think it was about 1999 or there about, it was a great machine, no bells & whistles. Then I started working for Sizzix at shows & got my first Big Shot which still works really well.
Hi Linda, yes it was the bees knees at the time want it. I have the big shot too and despite dropping it and bending the shaft for the handle it still works a treat😊🤗💜

Loved these four pieces of ephemera💕 You always brighten my day, Julie 🤗 My first expensive craft "tool" was my Cricut probably 15 or more years ago and it was a birthday/Christmas gift from my husband... It's not fancy like the ones are today, but it still works perfectly for me. Crafting is an investment.... better than hanging at the bars like my Dad used to say 😋 Inthink with all the house projects my husband and I have done over 40+ years we always say the tools make the difference. When we first married we made a drafting table with very basic hand tools... Not fancy, but it was what we could afford and it was good enough for him to have a side job from home. Big hugs and blessings~~~

Love this project! FYI, There are also paper cutters with scoring capabilities. Recently i saw someone had a cutting blade on one end and a scoring blade on the other…color coded. Otherwise i have seen people use a scoring tool along their cutter instead of the cutting blade.
Thank you so much for reminding me Rhonda. I have a couple of the fiskars ones stashed from my card making days that I actually love, but don't love how quickly the cutting blades wear down. I'm going to dig one out to use as the raggedy edges are fab in junk journals and as you say great for scoring 😁🤗💜

I missed quite a lot of project 2 due to laughing at ‘…and if you don’t have teeth, go and watch a video about knitting’ and then just as I was regaining composure you told us to go and make glue from flour and water 😂😂😂. My little boy loves watching craft videos with me and you’re one of his favourites. The other day he asked to watch ‘the funny lady called Julie’. He says he likes you because you make him laugh and you sound like his swimming teacher! I’m guessing she’s from Yorkshire 😂

You’re awesome and these projects are great! Please don’t feel the need to apologize for having a tool or product that others don’t. You bought it, use it. Period. Some are always jealous or feel entitled or just plain nasty. Those types don’t deserve an ounce of your energy, unless it’s to offer up a quick prayer on their behalf. Do you ever hear Jennifer McGuire or Tim Holtz saying, “If you don’t have a pair of scissors or a piece of paper…”?? Never! Hi Julie, my first big craft buy was also the red Sizzix Machine! I think it was about 1999 or there about, it was a great machine, no bells & whistles. Then I started working for Sizzix at shows & got my first Big Shot which still works really well.
Hi Linda, yes it was the bees knees at the time want it. I have the big shot too and despite dropping it and bending the shaft for the handle it still works a treat😊🤗💜

My first expensive craft "tool" was my Cricut probably 15 or more years ago and it was a birthday/Christmas gift from my husband... It's not fancy like the ones are today, but it still works perfectly for me. Crafting is an investment.... better than hanging at the bars like my Dad used to say 😋 Inthink with all the house projects my husband and I have done over 40+ years we always say the tools make the difference. When we first married we made a drafting table with very basic hand tools... Not fancy, but it was what we could afford and it was good enough for him to have a side job from home. FYI, There are also paper cutters with scoring capabilities. Recently i saw someone had a cutting blade on one end and a scoring blade on the other…color coded.
Otherwise i have seen people use a scoring tool along their cutter instead of the cutting blade.
Thank you so much for reminding me Rhonda. I have a couple of the fiskars ones stashed from my card making days that I actually love, but don't love how quickly the cutting blades wear down. I'm going to dig one out to use as the raggedy edges are fab in junk journals and as you say great for scoring 😁🤗💜
