This is a very eye opening story into the Heart of the terrifying and horrific Slave Trade. To actually find a Slave Ship is outstanding! I’m so glad that some of the descendants were able to come along. It would have been extremely emotional and painful to be there! Bless them all! Back to watching!

I’m from Mobile Alabama, my ancestors including my mother lived in the all black town of the surviving slaves of the Clotida. It’s called plateau now but back then it was called African town. It was a thriving city however “ the people “ kept burning it down. It’s pretty much a Hood now but everyone goes back yearly and celebrate

Since you didn’t give any proof at all, here’s a bit more information From Wikipedia:
“Wreckage from Clotilda was allegedly found in 2018, but the Alabama Historical Commission ruled out the findings because of major differences between the two vessels, and apparent lack of any fire damage. In May 2019, the Alabama Historical Commission announced the wreck had finally been found by researcher Ben Raines, showing physical and forensic evidence that powerfully suggests that this is the Clotilda.”

I want to see this integrated into all PS history teachings. Start with the importance of gathering living histories in middle school. Make Baracoon and these documentaries mandatory part of all US histories in early through out today ( due to the institutionalization of racist laws, modern trafficking etc. ). There are so many ripples and links to other happenings ( Civil Rights, Jim Crow, policing, penal & legal systems , racism in politics today etc). Field trips and internships can be part of this museum

What was done to my people were extremely inhumane and you would have to wonder, what kind of mind would individuals like that, would have to have to look at and treat people in that manner. That mindset was worse than an animal. But I have to also ask, why would our own people sell us off like that, away from our families, homes etc. That was horrible also. They knew that it was wrong. Africa had everything. There was no excuse. We let the enemy in and once that happened it's a done deal, so it continues on til today. May God help us.

The African people ( Slaves ) did NOT truly have a voice ( being told what to do asking permission for EVERYTHING ) they were also NOT allowed to learn how to read or write, and it was common for them to write the alphabet in the dirt with a stick and then erase what they had done so they didn't get caught.

Not in this lifetime. No one alive today should be forced to pay reparations for something that occurred over 150 years ago.

WP had to know there would be a higher price to pay for all they Did Not Pay For.

Get reps from the guy that captured, bought, and sold you, not the beach you happen to land on. Or you can get a job.

@@smujer1Yet, there are thousands of descendants of slave holding families in the South that benefit from generational wealth inherited from their great grandparents yet they never owned slaves. Entire towns in the South economies are run by businesses owned & operated by slave holding families whilst descendants of slaves live in poverty. Oh the hypocrisy….
Many of you act like slavery was something from the distant past when my great grandparents were slaves born in 1835 & 1853. In fact, many of you have family heirlooms from that supposed “distant past” to include slave wills, amongst other things but it was oh so long ago. Yal are some great gaslighters to say the least😉

Why would you call yourself an fba the usa government did'nt respect our enslaved west african ancestors and they don't respect their descendants me & you of course reparation needs to be paid by suing the united states government and hiring an attorney /lobbyist to represent the descendants of enslaved west Africans in the usa congress not by running up on a random politician saying cut the check.
