the funniest thing is that koyori actually wins on the third move there if she just places her pieces in a row since ina didn't block the sides

That and Ina could’ve also gotten her win way earlier if she had placed another piece at the center left because she could’ve completed a diagonal from bottom right to top left if Koyori had left it open, while she’s been waiting for her to fill that spot up the whole time, so she would’ve won either way
She may have thrown to make the game last longer.

@@ElJoeMama That's exactly what happened. She pauses for a second with the cursor on the winning move, then decides to drop it one more spot to the side.
The weird part is Ina *MASSIVELY* misplayed at the start. Had Koyori simply set her third piece in a straight line and not tried the cheeky play with putting it one gap away from her other two, then this is impossible for Ina to block both sides. That Ina allowed for this at all was a big blunder, but the rest of her game was phenomenal.
She did miss lethal a few times, though.
2:18 not also putting it into the 3rd column, isn't what I would call phenomenal.

At 0:45 Koyori could win by placing her piece at 2nd column from the left or 3rd column from the right, since Ina can only block one side.
At 2:17 Ina could win if she place her piece 3rd column from the left. Hoyori has to respond by 3rd column from the right. Ina can win by placing on 3 column from right.
However I did not see Ina's winning move. Ina big brain.

How merciful of her to not brutally crush her in the absolute minimum number of turns possible in Connect 4.

Oof, I was so focused on the one that Koyori was afraid of near the beginning that I couldn't anticipate Ina's winning move that came immediately after she countered it

2:18 idk if Ina was just trynna troll, but she could have went to one left of the middle and won easily here. Or maybe she was just being nice lol
I remember back in highschool where suddenly all the delinquents just started playing connect four, and the we had this two common techniques where we always go for the middle columns first, because the more chips you have in the middle, the more you limit your enemy's ability to connect 4 horizontally. Another is the 7 trap where you make a figure 7 with the pointed side to an open space. Once the row is full right until 1 slot below the level of the 7's pointy side, its guaranteed win. The only way to stop it is to either stop the enemy from forming the figure 7 or fill up the pointed slot in advance.

Everybody mentions that Koyori had the win early on but missed it, but nobody mentions that THE LAST MOVE BEFORE INA WINS, Koyo had a winning play in the leftmost column

Man, this was like watching the latter half of an episode of Code Geass R2
Ina lost the game at move 2, all Koyori had to do was place a piece next to her initial 2, creating 3 in a row and being able to connect 4 on either side next turn with Ina unable to stop it.
Connect 4 is a solved game though you can never win if you go second

@@azkioshino1691 The other half of that statement is "...unless your opponent misplays." lol. Ina threw it on move 3 by not blocking a side, but then Koyori threw it harder by not putting the 3rd one connected and taking the free win Ina offered her. Ina won from there but only because of Koyori's big misplay.
i'm pretty sure koyori didn't win at the begining on purpose as you can see at 0:45 she hesitates whether to end it but desides not to. but ina did beat her fair and square if we don't count the first mistake

Well, i think, the game ends here at 2:16 ina just needs to deploy one coin at third.
And.. then.. koyori will be forced to cover it up at 5th. But ina would just top it again at 5th leads to win.
On the other hand, Koyori could have guaranteed a win at 0:45 if she'd just put her piece next to her existing ones.
This gives me "painful chess match" vibes. Koyori had it in the bag 3 turns in but fat fingered/fatbrained, then Ina could have closed it out way earlier by putting her peg in the third coloumn at 2:16
Koyori would have needed to put her peg into 5 but that would have enabled Inas other diagonal win.
I was gonna say how Octopus are incredibly smart creature so it's no surprised.
But the comments are saying she misplayed and Koyo also misplayed and missed her chance to win. And also Ina has 1 braincell. So now the octopus fact seems out of place lmao

You know, this almost has me wondering if there is sometimes an implicit agreement between the girls behind the scenes to avoid ending a game too early even if it means not capitalising on a very obvious mistake.
Why would ending the game too early be a problem? They can just have a rematch right after, and it would make for a funny clip.

I think they're both just bad at the game. They both missed multiple insta-win setups over and over.
It will be pretty cool to see a clip of the en members who can speak jp use it on a jp member collab and that jp member use en as much as they know to learn more words.

Koyori didn't notice that she had the winning move on the left most column? 3:09 instead she went for the other move that immediately lost her the game.

Game was less about mechanics but more about who gets to sweep who with mind games.
If koyori figured out how to win it she'll be pretty good (ex. Tetris), the revenge chance still remains in these strategy boardgames.

Strongest opponent so far, but basically throws the game on turn 2. But Koyori seemed to preoccupied with trying to trick her to notice she could have won on turn 2.
