I consider kouhide to be the best Gio now since Ty dropped her for chipp and by that I mean that she plays her to her strengths simple strike, throw without barely any mix unless absolutely necessary.
This is my first time seeing Slayer in this channel and can't take serious the amazing reward of damage from a good read coming from a character with great mixup.
Usually characters with good mix either do poor damage (Bridget, Millia) or are meant to 'struggle' to get to a state where they can consistently apply it (Potemkin). But Slayer? nah, he can do whatever he's cool lol
@@uefreeba i guess in theory the trade off is that he has one of the worst defenses in the game (no dp, poor mash buttons, no 4 framer, shit 6p, whatever backdash),cant advance on the opponent safely because he cant dash block and poor range on his normal tools, has to commit to k.mappa or pilebunker for range. Now, how much those "weakness" impact him in the long run i cant say, but i guess well see
Slayer’s whole mixup game can be beaten easily by mashing, the only option that wins is a hard callout with Pilebunker which is ridiculously unsafe. Basically, the only way to win with Slayer is to put the fear of god in them and hope they don’t realize how fake half our stuff is
Because it's just not very good. It doesn't have any invuln, so at most you get 6 frames of invincibility from the backdash itself BEFORE the 12 frames of startup before the attack becomes active, meaning that it gets counterhit more often than not. Even if it does hit, it's -4 on hit, so unless you get a counterhit (rewards a small combo) or have meter to RC (could be better spent on YRC or a super PRC or something like that) you're still in neutral at a disadvantage. The wallbounce property in combos is interesting, but I don't think that's been fully explored or optimized yet outside of meme combos. I'm not saying it's useless, as I've found some success avoiding and punishing predictable grabs or meaties, but even then most people meaty with c.S, which is active for 6 frames on most characters, so if they delay the meaty by even 1 frame it'll catch your backdash. It would be a lot better if the move itself had some invuln, but Slayer's already good enough as it is so I don't think he needs a good meterless reversal, too.
How do gio players do the instant overhead blue into multi hit mixup? I tried to do the flip instant rc jab but it ends up making gio go high, and same thing for neutral jump brc instant cancel jab. Is there a specific thing they're canceling? The exact way they do it i cannot replicate at all!
Have yall ever thought about how ggst would be with a parry system like sf6🤔? Every time you want to parry it takes up some of your burst but at the same time can give you bursts meter for getting hit while parry. The parry can also be punished by throws and its after frames. Would it fit ggst or would it ruin the game?
We had that for 25 tension in xrd. It was Blitz. It would hurt strive a lot to bring back. It wasn't strong in that game because it was so far but parries in games as slow as GGST will result in moves being practically removed from the game when you get the resources.
ArkSys is definitely nerfing far 5S. A limit to the loops, a scaling increase, something. I just know it isn't staying the same. Probably why they didnt release a patch with Slayer; they want to see what to change with and around *him.*
You are right! she needs buffs.I recommend an air command grab that allows her to do snaps hands pistol loops like bullet from bccf, also it would be really cool if she had a ground command throw that leads to a combo to help with the bad matchups, and give her back the dp loops those were saucy.
