Hey. My family is looking into getting guinea pigs, but one thing we aren't sure about is if we need chew sticks. Wheter they be wooden chew sticks ir timothy hay chew sticks, do we need them for the piggies teeth or not?

Everything is so informative and I’m constantly going back and watching them over again.
When it comes to chew sticks, in my personal experience with my babies, some of them like them and some of them don’t. They definitely don’t NEED them though, because eating plenty of fresh hay and a controlled amount of pellets should be perfect enough to keep their teeth short/the right length. I don’t keep sticks in my cage anymore, but I do keep the “Crazy Hay Ball” and the “Timbells” chews from Oxbow in there. I also like to stuff empty toilet paper rolls with hay and toss them in there.

I feel like there is so much work every day to maintain all of those presious animals and you're doing really great. Just keep the way you are, you're awesome. I'm losing heart by just lookng at all that poop and straw all over the place, no way I could do as good as you 😅
