In this color along, I’m going to add in a metallic color “GOLD” and I hope it inspires you and gives you yet another idea on incorporating your metallics into your art.
They can do more then just sit in your sets😂😂😂 all lonely.
Part 2- continues the Hair & Strawberries

The colorist is ME of course, PNWCOLORIST
Medium used is prismacolor premiere, 150 count set
GETTING STARTED- I thought I would start with the hair and strawberries, working from top to bottom, to Avoid rubbing your arm or hands across colored areas. I like to use this method and/or Glassine paper or parchment even wax paper will help avoid the artists rub issue 😂😂
Hair or fur can be a challenge, I find overwhelming to some artists.
First don’t overthink it, next look at your own hair.
Pay attention to individual colors and strands looking at the scalp, hairline and parts.
Take mental notes what you’re seeing.
Now apply it to paper, right!!! I made it sound easy, but it really can be.
You’ll find using a base coat will help you achieve this upcoming look.
Some call it an undercoat but it’s an ever so light layer of light color, this gives you a base to work with.
Remember we’re going to use several different strokes in creating hair.
From small circular motion to straight lines and dashing .
Light touch is going to help you immensely.
Keeping your hair flowing in the right direction will also help you get a more realistic look and flow to your image.
Hair strands should follow a path just like your hair does.
Keeping the right pressures, (depending on layering) & adding different colors at different times with just the right amount of blending where needed will give that polished look of single strands.
