- "Love for fingerstyle guitar and my tendency to obsess on overdoing, has resulted in continuous refinement of my Fingerstyle SJ model."
Charis guitars are crafted single-handedly by Bill Wise from his workshop in Michigan. Bill's philosophy, honed during his days as an engineer, is that it's better to do a select few things very well, and to that end, he has specialized in crafting acoustics that are especially well-suited to fingerstyle playing. Though he calls this model an SJ, it's still plenty comfortable for anyone who prefers a mid-sized guitar, but wants an added boost in volume and bass presence. The action and playability make all kinds of fingerstyle or hybrid playing a breeze. The master-grade cedar and Madagascar rosewood come together for a sweet and warm voice, responding especially well to a lighter attack.

Beautiful playing and gorgeous sound!
Beautiful song as well as your great playing on that fine guitar.
Absolutely great sounding guitar!!!
an exceptional guitar!
sounds lovely & Carls playing is, as always, perfect. I would have liked to hear it played Fingerstyle after reading the builders quote
what is the song you played? Sounds great!! wow!
WOW!!! Just.....WOW!!!!
BOOMing... This guitar is so loud... volumes over the rest...
Yes... it's got presence and then some
Gorgeous wood, love the rounded edges and wood binding
Carl... try a wood plectrum... would love to hear it's softer edges on the strings
Thanks for the showcase
Ahhh a new set of strings…..
To me there is nothing like the tone of a good set of Madagascar Rosewood. This just further proves that.
Of course when Carl is playing he could make a $50 plastic guitar sound good.
Sounds better than a Martin D45
D-45 is a huge not really a finger style guitar like this beautiful guitar . Of course you can play fingerstyle on whatever you want. Yes, this is an incredible guitar. I'd love both! Haha
