- Really Poor Security @Veolia
Security At Veolia Is None Existent, I Walk Around For 20 Mins Unchallenged.
Today I paid a visit to Veolia who do waste disposal all around the country. I thought that security would be good there, but it wasn't.
I walked onto the site and wandered around for at least 20 mins unchallenged, in fact, some of the staff walked past me and said hello lol.

As a HGV driver you are absolutely right about the idiot who parked the bucket vehicle exactly opposite where the articulated vehicles have to back in...i have to deal with his sort if thing on a daily basis.

Bloody hell, no health and safety at all applied at the point of entry, had you Not hung about in that doorway then nobody would have approached you.
See the driver was pissed off when he arrived but I bet he was more pissed off due to the trouble that he had reversing into a tight spot because a trainee had parked a grabber right outside the entrance to the loading bay, that said a lot about his trainers knowledge about parking the machine safely. Another good video from you PJ.
We need to show our drivers much more respect and provide them with better pay,working conditions and facilities.
Poor lorry driver it’s ridiculous someone left JCB where they did. He did a great job though.
That was a really good audit of how poor the site security is. You raised a really valid point about a kid on a bike. Kids can be very curious and may be fascinated by the machinery and easily get hit by a lorry or heavy plant equipment. The site manager and directors would be up on manslaughter charges. Just because it hasn’t happened before, doesn’t mean it won’t in the future.
That's bender logic. if the kid got hit because he went on site which is private that would be the kids fault. stay off site.

Veolia have failed the audit. They are poor with the security of their sites and are too focused on H & S.

They said they don’t need security? I beg to differ and if someone did come on site and was injured they would still be liable because they had not taken measures to secure the site. There's veolia in st helens Merseyside. In st helens our councils waste system is terrible. Flimsy bags for stuff and a little black box. So we have to sort the recycling ourselves then a truck comes and it's put in different sections and then the council sell it to veolia

Veolia is a Fantastic Company as for H&S they are very strict and as far as the difficult reverse it was nowt to do with the JCB it was the artic parked waiting to load that caused the problem because you cant get the angle you need .....just you let you know Ive been in and out of that door hundreds of times good days and bad
Veolia operate all over Australia. At first I saw them operating Bus Services. Now they are involved in collecting domestic waste on a weekly basis with contracts with a lot of local Council authorities.
Veoila are really bad in UK.Manly druggies.

That wife on the gate spike to me like a was scum over the intercom. Now of that was the other way round I would be band off site .. its funny that another veolia site has rolt me on numerous occasions she is very differxult with drivers what they don't realise is is that yes I am a driver but some places its our first time and procedures change from place ro place a simple... "next tone .ate just remember to do thi s first" not the stinking atitude I got

That sort of thing happened here in New Zealand once and the truck driver refused to back it in because the machinery was in his Road the boss I work.for told him to back it in anyway he told the boss to go and get stuffed. And as health and safety officers they are morons trying to justify what they were doing wrong and in a similar situation where I work they had a bucket hang over the sprinkler system and they said it was approved by osh so I made a phone call to osh which is occupational safety and health and they said there is no way they would have approved that and they rang up the boss and said if it wasn't down within 10 minutes there would be serious consequences. Even closer of the the site the on site osh guy was not happy with me so i just called him a tosser.

Try looking at xpo gxo site in eadton just south of grantham there's a new automated frozen cold store being built on site loads of trucks loads of plant operating just starting the piling although the security is a bit twitchy

PJ, that is a public road. The approved signs, as per the Road traffic Act, and the double yellow traffic control lines are a give away .
That doesn’t make it a public road. There are plenty of private roadways that use UK standard road signage and markings.
There is an absolutely huge Veolla plant in Chilton. Next time you are up north give me shout and I'll show you.
This company are a disgrace, blocking access for the driver is a health & safety nightmare, credit to very skilled driver 👍

If you need to check for footpaths, roads, and other rights of way you can go on the "definitive map" as this gives definitive proof of where any right of way is and when company idiots, sorry employees say differently you have the proof if necessary and you can dismiss their false claims Pete and cite facts. he won't identify himself so what authority does he have to give anyone instructions. Under the law Health and Safety i everyones problem and ANYONE can report a H&S issue and not just employees. Under the law it is publicly accesible and becomes a public place and their failures over 25 years are their problem and not yours and they do nothing other than try to prevent claims against Violia which cost them money and hit their profits.

Its health and safety at work act. Your joe public not working . They are liable for not putting measures in place to prevent accidents or injury. They would be liable if a thief went in stole and got crushed. Same as they would be liable if a deaf blind person wandered in and got run over
