Waay before chapter 4 it was meant to be a meme that S ranking Mascot Mayhem no powers AND no tablet is straight up impossible. If you had no deaths that would have been the most perfect run however Hangry's mechanics were never supposed to let the player survive based on luck. Absolutely well done!

I just sranked this level with only speedboost and teleportation.Hangry's random ambush is such a mental torture when passing by a breakable wall that I don't want to play this challeng the second time.Even without this point,finishing this challenge without any power is still very difficult. I can't imagine how much time you put in to finish this challenge even without using any power.Your patience and skills are amazing.You're definitely the most skilled person I've ever seen in this game.
Thanks very much! 🙂 If I had to guess, I would say I put in around 250 attempts before completing it. What kept me going was seeing myself slowly improve over-time which was very satisfying. But you're absolutely right about Hangry. He gave me anxiety every time I passed by a wall. 😆 Congrats for S-Ranking the level with only Speed Boost and Teleport! That's an incredible feat on its own!

I used VLC media player to add the subtitles, and for that to work, I had to provide a ".srt" file, which is basically just a long list of all the text in the video and their respective timestamps. I don't do this anymore for my current videos though. Instead, I use text boxes within the editor itself.
It is still remarkable how you put so much practice and use the trial and error method to achieve the almost impossible. You deserve my respect and support(sub).
Honestly while I’m still waiting for the game to get the full release before buying it, watching this was honestly a big sign of relief and waaay more enjoyable then other gameplay videos. Since at this entire chapter was stupidly easy to just brute force with telekinesis and primal fear. Kinda made it hard to actually appreciate the unique aspects of the level when….yeah. Heck, I didn’t even know Penny *HAD* an egg toss pre-joy kill!
I honestly have a similar sort of opinion. I express a bit about my thoughts in the video here 30:50. It's obvious that Dark Deception has been trying to cater towards lower skilled players as of the most recent updates, but I can understand this choice because Dark Deception needs to appeal to those sorts of audiences if it wishes to thrive, and a part of that involves removing the amounts of frustration to actually beating and finishing the game. I think this may be why certain powers have been made OP. But yeah, it leaves many experienced players like myself bored and unsatisfied, and as a viewer myself, I don't particularly enjoy watching people _cheese_ a level with fully upgraded Telekinesis, unless they're doing a speedrun. So I kinda made the video that I wanted to see. 🙂 In my opinion, they should keep Primal Fear, Telekinesis, and Vanish as they are in Easy mode and nerf them in Normal mode. I think that would balance things out a bit. Sorry for that mini-rant. Thanks for watching! I highly appreciate it! 🙂

This is impossible, they all have the ability to teleport in front of you, speed boost, stun you, and detect you with cameras. Imagine this was the first ring piece and not monkey business?
Any level but monkey business and Deadly decadence are impossible without powers. I pity the souls that were sent there first, they did not had a chance at all
If you have 350 shards without the tablet, on zone 2 it means u have 1 more shard left bc i got 500 shard streak when i played this and i lost 1 life bc i got stuck in wall by malak escaping zone 3 and then he killed me. Anyways nice video and playthrough!
Hey sharkfan when you did bearly buried I wish they never changed mama bears spinning counter clockwise after her pause because having her rotate in both directions would surprise new players also I wish joy kill stays stunned for longer because the bossfight is just as terrible as the Agatha bossfight because when you die during the chase sequence it makes you do the bossfight again which is unfair but normal also I hate how they got rid of the original version because the jump scares used to look so much better than this new version
I feel like they should add a P-Rank (Powerless rank) because this is impressive to pull off, and imagine a SP rank (a S rank + a Powerless rank), I feel like these videos of not using the powers in the levels while getting a S rank should be considered a SP rank
as for the game audio, i wish there was separate categories. like genshin, i can put the voices on low or mute em while the sound effects are maxed out. but in DD the picking shards noise it is louder than the voices, the steps n than the ost, its very inconvenient
I agree, sound categories would be very nice to have. DD used to have them, but when the settings menu got revamped, the sound categories were remove, which is unfortunate.

Only 1 Hangry can break through walls, although I wasn't 100% sure back when I recorded this video. Sometimes it can feel like multiple Hangrys break through the walls because the 1 that does teleports around rapidly and it creates the illusion that it's multiple.
Im just amazed just like the CC video without powers, mostly 'cause when collecting shards, you have to make sharp corners or to say go around faster and think how much shards in what tike you can get by addditionally making to the portal. Now i have some questions: 1. How manny hours have you put in playing the game to rely on the map? 2. When playing, do you have near yourself the three maps just incase if you forget? 3. That's right! I did talk about turning corners sharply and getting shards before heading to the portals in the CC video. Well recalled! 🙂 Here are my answers to your questions: 1. If I had to guess, I have probably put in around 150 hours of playing the game normally and relying on the map. I have put in a lot more time than this without using the map and powers by now. 2. No, it's all just from memory. Because of this, I forgot lots of times about where the shards were and even where I was sometimes. When I was taking too long wandering around, I would give up and open the map in-game. Once I figure out where I went wrong, I will start all over again and remember on the next attempt. 3. I love chapter 4! Best chapter by far in my opinion! I like the animations and cutscenes, the lore, the mechanics and A.I of the enemies, the design of the levels, the bosses, it's all really cool! Some lingering bugs and issues are holding it back though. 4. I am working on a video showcasing all bugs that I'm aware of in Dark Deception. This will hopefully raise awareness and get the bugs resolved. I'm hoping it will help players to avoid them as well. Also, I am now attempting to S-Rank Bearly Buried without using the map and powers, and it is much harder than anything I have ever seen! It seemed impossible at first, but I have discovered new tactics and this changed everything! I will still need to use Primal Fear at least 6 times to defeat the boss and get the ring pieces from the teddies, Teleport 4 times to get the last secret and proceed to the exit of the cave, and Speed Boost 1 time to get past the speed barrier at the end. So technically it's not really powerless, but it's as powerless as can be.
@@sharkfan2 verry nice to hear and looking forward on how Bearly buried will be completed + i have to mention that you will have primal for teddies with ring pieces, the traps in zone 2 that hold a single shard in it and yes the boss fight, as im a bit unsure how in zone 3 with teddies you can get one each or maybe you go to a corner, wait for two to go near and use primal to only get two teddies.
@@AlanTulp I'm glad that you're looking forward to it. 🙂 About the traps in zone 2, I discovered a way to trigger them without getting killed, but it is extremely precise and hard to do. For zone 3, my plan is to get 2 teddies holding the fake ring pieces and Primal Fear them both at once just like you said. I wish I could do all 3 of them, but a bug causes the ring piece not to appear if I were to do that.
It happened during one of my attempts at beating the challenge. The same applies for all the other clips shown at the end of the video. I can't provide an exact date or anything because I deleted the recordings a long time ago.
That's so impressive, great respect 🙏 but I would like to ask how the timer counts, because during my playthrough on speedboost teleport S rank on mascot mayhem, it seems that part of the cutscenes are calculated towards the time, any idea how that happens?

I’m struggling to s rank monkey business with all powers so don’t make fun of me and I really want to s rank all levels before chapter 5 :( I’m going to try s rank and practice so hard with tutorials and everything in august
I will eventually. 👍 I have already been attempting Bearly Buried and it's been quite rough. It's even harder than Mascot Mayhem in my opinion! But I think I will give Deadly Decadence a try instead because it's still very hard but not as much as the others. I suppose Elementary Evil would be possible... except for the boss fight at the end. 😥
@@foidly The boss sequence is actually still possible without powers. Due to a bug, if you press "P" during the sequence, you will teleport to the center of the auditorium which can be used to evade Agatha.

That's because of a performance issue, sorry about that. 😥 You could hear it all the way through Zone 2 as well as the boss sequence at the end with Joy Kill. It's quite irritating, and I don't know how to stop it or remove it.
@@sharkfan2 good for u i guess. Here is another spoiler for today for chapter 5. At the end of the last portal. You will see bierce and you will be in a dialog of you and bierce. Bierce will say to u to hand the last ring piece until malak comes and says other things. While bierce is saying to not trust him. You get a timer of 30 seconds (guessing) and then the little blue orb will come aswell after 10 seconds passed. And you will have 4 choices. 1. Give the last ring piece to bierce 2. Give the last ring piece to malak 3. Give the last ring piece to tammy (the blue orb) 4. Give it to yourself. You will unlock 1 of the 4 endings. And once you did a ending, everything will start over and your progress will be deleted. Even the S rank levels you did will be erased which means you will start over.
@@arron3410 That's weird, because I recall the developer of the game saying the final level would require all S-Ranks to unlock, which then leads into the true ending. if you don't have all S-Ranks, you'll get one of the bad endings and the final portal will not be playable.
@@arron3410 I think it's as you said, we'll need to make a choice in Chapter 5, and that's where No Room For Doubt will play, but I don't think it happens at the end of the last portal. It makes more sense for it to happen at the end of the 2nd to last portal (for the reason I explained earlier).

There are a few reasons, but the main reason is because I didn't care about not using the Stun Orb back when I recorded this.

Yep, that's right! It's a pretty weird bug that isn't helpful very often, but in that attempt I managed to beat zone 1 because of it.

About the traps in zone 2, I discovered a way to trigger them without getting killed, but it is extremely precise and hard to do. For zone 3, my plan is to get 2 teddies holding the fake ring pieces and Primal Fear them both at once just like you said. I wish I could do all 3 of them, but a bug causes the ring piece not to appear if I were to do that.

That's so impressive, great respect 🙏 but I would like to ask how the timer counts, because during my playthrough on speedboost teleport S rank on mascot mayhem, it seems that part of the cutscenes are calculated towards the time, any idea how that happens?

I'm pretty sure that it's a bug which is causing the timer to still be running during cutscenes. It happened to me too in this video.
I’m struggling to s rank monkey business with all powers so don’t make fun of me and I really want to s rank all levels before chapter 5 :( I’m going to try s rank and practice so hard with tutorials and everything in august

I have already been attempting Bearly Buried and it's been quite rough. It's even harder than Mascot Mayhem in my opinion!
But I think I will give Deadly Decadence a try instead because it's still very hard but not as much as the others. I suppose Elementary Evil would be possible... except for the boss fight at the end. 😥
@@sharkfan2 EE used to be possible but the boss fight at the end made it impossible
@@foidly The boss sequence is actually still possible without powers. Due to a bug, if you press "P" during the sequence, you will teleport to the center of the auditorium which can be used to evade Agatha.

In case you didn't know. I heard they will add some cutscenes for the start (for Lucky and Penny) and when you kill Joykill. I don't know if it's in the game yet, maybe the cutscenes will be added together with Chapter 5. Will you "challenge" S-rank again after they add them?

You could hear it all the way through Zone 2 as well as the boss sequence at the end with Joy Kill. It's quite irritating, and I don't know how to stop it or remove it.

@@sharkfan2 good for u i guess. Here is another spoiler for today for chapter 5.
At the end of the last portal. You will see bierce and you will be in a dialog of you and bierce. Bierce will say to u to hand the last ring piece until malak comes and says other things. While bierce is saying to not trust him. You get a timer of 30 seconds (guessing) and then the little blue orb will come aswell after 10 seconds passed. And you will have 4 choices.
1. Give the last ring piece to bierce
2. Give the last ring piece to malak
3. Give the last ring piece to tammy (the blue orb)
4. Give it to yourself.
You will unlock 1 of the 4 endings. And once you did a ending, everything will start over and your progress will be deleted. Even the S rank levels you did will be erased which means you will start over.
@@arron3410 That's weird, because I recall the developer of the game saying the final level would require all S-Ranks to unlock, which then leads into the true ending. if you don't have all S-Ranks, you'll get one of the bad endings and the final portal will not be playable.

@@arron3410 I think it's as you said, we'll need to make a choice in Chapter 5, and that's where No Room For Doubt will play, but I don't think it happens at the end of the last portal. It makes more sense for it to happen at the end of the 2nd to last portal (for the reason I explained earlier).
