Luongo did sign from Middlesbrough but never played for them. Agree i would him out no game time at Town, loan out Al-Hamadi and de register Ogbene. Another striker and wide right player priorities
Rumours about Ben Godfrey joining from Atalanta; looks like we're shopping more from Waitrose than Lidl these days... Any signings must only be made with the probability that we will be relegated. We don't want to sign players only to have a fire sale when we go down - I am aware that our finances have never been so good and fully believe that, with the expectation of relegation, forward planning for that eventuality means the squad will hopefully remain similar - bar the obvious departures of Davis & Delap. The big thing about relegation (or even if we stay up) is if we lose McKenna. If we do, sobeit. It would be a shocker - but nice in some ways that we are seeing the manager leave who has been poached and not sacked. I'm sure deals could be done with 'Boro although I think there are far better options to be honest.
Mass id keep just in case there's an injury but as you say we're well stocked in midfield. J Philogene yeh good option, what about the serbian guy for a loan from villa mentioned 2 weeks ago can't remember his name midfield. Innit great town no longer shopping at lidl now shopping in Tesco 😂
I see Ipswich shopping in Tescos now rather than Poundland under Evans.Ferguson would be ideal good player.I heard rumours that Town were looking at Poshs winger Poku before he got his injury he is quality definitely high end Championship lower end Prem, but he not fit til March so maybe a summer move.
morning Rich i not sure we will get latte lath with wet ham circling too but maja of wba could be of interest and we do need right wing option rumours glen kamara of interest too he is at rennes ex leeds utd
One injury to Davis and weve got an average chsmpionship back up, weve already seen that our back up striker, Al-Hamidi id a massive drop off in level, Townsend would be too
I think I'd go for either Ferguson or the Iced Latte person, just as I think Delap needs a bit of a break. Think I agree with you on Ali, although I feel he's done okay when brought on as a battering ram. I like Phillips, but for me if he's not starting and playing we should probably send him back. What are your thoughts on Morgan Whittaker?
Keep Phillips, has a big part to play in our survival bid, also, his demeanor (for example when he joined in the celebrations of Taylors winner v Wolves) says to me that he is a part of the excellent spirit within our camp.
A striker and a RW - Maja or Latte Lath, I cant see us getting Ferguson from Brighton (but you never know) and if KM rates Jaden Philligene that highly then he will do for me. Luongo to leave, Al Hamadi out on loan and we could de-register Ogbene for the rest of the season…. COYB
I feel that some of the fans may not appreciate how radical a shift Mckenna’ change to 3/5 at the back is. We now have to effectively operate as a countering unit: I.e a specialist RWB, a midfielder and Striker is urgently needed.
@ I think Wes can but the rest, In my opinion, are full backs - Johnson seems to be neither (I know that’s harsh). If Wes losses form the role is key to providing attacking and technical outlets like Leigh does the other side. The midfielder needs to athletic and quick for countering, breaking lines and defending. Again, limited choice on this apart from Cajuste. We’re basically attempting to undo the errors of the summer with 3 quality signings in areas we’re weak. For some reason fans have trouble voicing this - they probably think it’s negative.
@@TheSuffolkCrunch 7 out of 10 when we needed a 9 to be safe. Delap, Grieves and Sammy were excellent signings but we doubled up on areas where were already strong. Mckenna’s need to change to a (formal) 3 is evidence that the other signings were quantity over quality. The lack of an additional striker was crazy and our lack of flexibility (or a plan B) is largely a result of a lack of diversity in our transfers. Mckenna’s change is arguably proof that he concedes his original tactics were not suitable. We were never going to pass through teams and we were not defensively solid enough through the centre of defence. Fingers crossed we haven’t waited to long to change and we can have a good window. 🤞
I can't give specific names/nominations but the squad needs strengthening overall. Yes, it's fantastic that we have players who have played in all four divisions but relying on them long-term is not sustainable if we're to (a) stay up; (b) become established in the Premier League. Some of those players are good enough for the Prem, but not all of them. Al-Hamidi is a prime example. I have a sneaking feeling that goalkeepers will get a lot of mentions in these comments.
I would say. Gnonto on the right. Ferguson as a striker and probably Armstrong as another striker. Van Hecke or Mings defence and probably right wing back Wan Bissaka.
While Walton was brilliant the other night and surely now has the shirt, we do need to bring in another highly experienced keeper, as back up, with a view to moving Muric on in the summer (sorry but the Chelsea game convinced me he has to go). The most telling thing was how it positively affected the team, not having to cope with the Muric eccentricities. The players couldn't hide how relieved they were to have Walton between the posts. I also think we need to switch up the recruitment this window and stop cherry picking Championship superstars. That is always a gamble and we need solid Premiership experience in this second half of the season. Midfield is definitely not an area we need to strengthen. We do need a bit more experience at the back, given injuries, but I'd still have confidence in Harry, Woolfie and Cam if we can't find suitable players. Won't happen, but we could do worse than sign Kiefer Moore again. He plays well within our system, has good Prem experience and would take minimal time to settle in.
@@TheSuffolkCrunchfair point, but hopefully we can spend big on players who are currently making first eleven. Some teams may have to offload top talent to help balance books etc. I doubt we'll sell him until summer, but I guarantee there'll be huge offers coming in for Delap in the coming days. Spurs and Chelsea spring to mind.

@craigwinchester1 Like I said, only so many spots available that isn't an area I'd look at
