The Home Office is scrapping Tory rules that barred small boat arrivals from becoming citizens and removing powers to treat asylum seekers who refuse age checks as adults.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp called it a “capitulation to people smugglers,” while government sources say the Tories never properly enforced these laws.
