- Ron Mainse goes back to 1981 when Donna Douglas, also known as “Elly May Clampett” of “The Beverly Hillbillies” dropped by our downtown Toronto studio to share her personal story, and she encouraged viewers to take a simple step of faith like she did.
What a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart and spirit
It's always sad to lose someone you have watched on tv growing up.
What a beautiful woman. You could see "Ellie" even in her older years. The voice and the spark remain and what a great outlook on on life.
She was a true angel on earth .
This woman was so beautiful. Everything her voice, her beauty and her outlook on life.

Too bad her mind was gone.
I'll never forget the Twilight Zone episode she was in. Her face was wrapped up in cloth bandages. She was in a hospital. You couldn't see the Drs or Nurse's faces at all !! Her character had plastic surgery, bcz she was born so ugly, or what ever... Then at the end, they remove all the bandages. The Drs & Nurses are so shocked, they all gasp, & drop scissors or whatever they were holding.... But!! Then you see the hideous, grotesque faces of the Drs & Nurses, who look like they're from mars !!
Then you see Donna's Beautiful Face !! But even her character was shocked, bcz the surgery Failed !!! The Title of that episode is, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," !!! 💖💗💖💗💖
When i was a little girl I saw Donna at are church in Minneapolis, she was visiting , it was Easter Sunday , my mom talked with her , she was so pretty and sweet!
What a treasure.
She came to the church I was going to at the time. She loved the lord but didn't call herself an evangelist, just loved the lord. I will cherish the picture she signed for me, until i see her again

When I was growing up as a kid all the guys liked Charlie's Angels but for me it will always be Donna Douglas and Barbara Eden as Genie!!! For me two of the most beautiful woman in the history of television and yes in more ways than one inside and out!!! Two Great funny shows!!! RIP Elly Mae Clampett you are sorely missed!!! An Angel on earth and now in Heaven!!!🙏👍..........................

Donna played in an episode of Route 66, surprised me to hear her speak without that hillbilly accent.......She was locked into and type cast by her roll in the Beverly Hillbillies...that limited her rolls in other venues......can't think of anyone that hadn't fallen head over heals for Elly Mae Clampett.
She was also in a Twilight Zone episode titled: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I told about that episode on another comment here. or just Google her name in Twilight Zone...💗

When I was 10, one of my friends wanted to have a neighborhood kids club. To make it interesting, she thot it'd be fun, to act like our fave tv characters. I chose to be Ellie Mae!!! I had long blond hair back then. I'd just wear it in 2 braids. But I had that accent down, & not only that, Ellie Mae had very expressive facial expressions. I had everyone laughing !! No one expected that from quiet, shy, li'l ol' me !!!! 💖💗💖💗💖

I miss Donna Douglas she was so so pretty! She was great in Frankie and Johnny at least you could enjoy the movie Elvis was okay with Donna but i wonder about their relationship! She looked very happy Miss You Elly Mae Clampett
