I got my Tease SBH-HD tele style yesterday and I cannot believe what a great guitar it is. Out of the box it was setup perfectly and the color is beautiful (purple burst). Fit and finish as good as any guitar I’ve seen and I have several Gibsons, a Heritage, and an Eastman as well as others. The Tease is one of the few guitars that I won’t need to have setup. It was ready to go. Only thing I did was lower the pickups a tad for my taste and replaced the strap buttons with the ones I prefer. I had an American Strat last year that I didn’t bond with so I sold it. Had no plans to get another S style, but I’m so impressed with my Tease tele style that I will likely order one of these soon to check it out. And you’re right, the owner is a cool dude who knows how to treat customers and is very quick to respond to any questions. I emailed him a couple of times and heard back within 10-15 minutes. Great guitar, great company, great price. How can you beat that?
Mine (Tease) should be arriving today. I plan on dropping in my fender deluxe drive pickup loaded pickguard in it and putting the guyker zinc tremelo with stainless steel saddles.
The Tease should be a 12" radius. I think we have a clear winner!! I could tell from the start. That gray is killer. I do like the matte red, too. But wow, the gray is awesome.
I had a Tease strat and was a decent budget guitar but I just couldnt get into the 12" radius frerboard. Would buy another if they came with 9.5 radius. But I recommend the Tease guitar👍
7:35 this part of the demo reminds me of Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song" and now it's stuck in my head 😅 I bought a Debut Squier (for a fun project) and it's really nice on it's own... so to hear that the Tease is better in a lot of ways makes me want one even more lol Thanks as always Joe 👍
I'm a big cheerleader for Tease. I love mine and the fact that you can literally DM with the owner of the company in real time right on their website is a huge added value. Having said that, I will eventually grab a debut squier because I can't resist having one matte finish strat in my arsenal.
I bought a Debut Squier, and it is really nice. It was set up well, looks awesome and plays just as well as any other Squier... for $120 I definitely recommend it
@@SeanDS1989 Seems like most people who bought one are happy with them. I love all my Squiers so I'm confident I'll enjoy the debut once I have the budget for one!
@@bluwng Ha! I definitely didn’t review it but I appreciate you taking a look. In short, Tease guitars are great. Maybe someday I will make a video on mine.
They both sound good. The Tease sounds more like a full size Strat in the bridge only especially. The Tease is noisier which probably indicates more potent pickups. I have a Tease on order so I'm probably biased. I like the better looks of the Tease and love what the company stands for. If I ever did play out with my son's band I'd rather have Tease on the headstock than Squire😁.
They're both great Strats. If I had to pick one, it would be the tease. Tonewoods are irrelevant, but the tease has a full size body .... So literally more guitar for the money.💜
ST-1 SPR has a swimming pool route for easy - simple loaded pick guard drop ins. The ST1 ( standard) does not. It also has nickel frets andcstandard tuners.
Well then, we can see that what it takes to make a great but truly competitive guitar is firstly diligently CARING about Quality Control and the customer plus being willing to suffer lower Profit Margin gains (for a while) until your company is eventually truly but deservedly appreciated. Maybe the company should be called "PLEASE" Guitars since they aim to please?
I emailed the guy and he responded back with neck depth measurements. We really have to support people who work hard and make an effort. The Tease is clearly a better guitar, as you point out. Stainless steel frets? Are you kidding? Also, I prefer a bit more finish than less because it makes it easier to clean.
Second on the finish 👍. Cleaning an unfinished fretboard is a nightmare cleaning a finished poly fretboard is so easy just soap and water you won’t need all the special oils non finished wood requires. After you can use polish to make it silky smooth.
@@carpathusI bought 2 Tease Guitar SBH HD because of Torsten's ( owner) view of customer service ❗ The name could have been a guitar, doesn't matter, it's the service behind the guitar ❗ In fact I don't do " budget" guitars for various reasons BUT again it's the customer service that matters. And I gotta say that the guitar is awesome ‼️
@@iamanovercomer3253Actually they don’t. They do know google, however! 😅 I have a Tease on order, should have it tomorrow. Hope it’s as nice as yours and maybe I’ll get another one soon.
I don’t like the name or unfinished fretboard. My Affinity is the newer ones and when setup correctly it is a beast. I prefer the smaller headstock that is the only downside for me.
What about a comparison between the two tease models? St-2 and the st-1? The stainless frets are nice on the st-1, but the st-2 has alnico pickups and cheaper. The st2 has a lefty model, which I prefer.
@AJgeartalk The ST-1 SPR has ceramic pick ups. Not Alnico. We wound those pick ups at the shop. Wax potted them for 45 minutes and sent them over seas to be duplicated. They output about 6 and are not tinny sounding because of the length of time they are dipped.
The only lefty Guitars we made were ST-1 units. A loaded Alnico 5 pick guard is about 25.00 on Amazon and drops right in. 11 screws out and 11 in and your all set.

I know it's just the perspective, but the Debut look positively *tiny* next to the Tease.
Agreed. Video angle and it's a thinner body. 🙂
I like that.
Playing both I much rather pay the little extra for the Tease you get much more guitar for the $145 it’s easily a $600 guitar
The T sounds way better, more resonant. The Squier sounds diminished and somewhat muddy.
Thanks for the feedback my friend.
Good comparison. But who thinks up these names though? Tease?? I'd sooner buy a guitar named Cedarsky or Sparkfire or Echotone than one named Tease.
Tease is a play on the owner's name.... 😉
@@AJgeartalk I see said the blind man. But still, that name, which is very important, just doesn't do it. It's got no hook to reel people in.

You’re right Joe, the Tease is better and once you buy a gig bag for the squire, you’re way ahead.
How would you compare Tease Guitar to a Mex player series 🎸 for the money ❓
I would compare it to a Squier Affinity.
Poplar is a light wood Basswood can very heavy.
I would lean towards the squire without playing either one.
As I stated in the video the Basswood and Poplar guitars weigh the same- 6.8 lbs.
Great video! I don't like the name Tease. Who names these guitars? But I'll just stick with my Squier Affinity Stratocaster made in Indonesia.

@@torstenjakob2391I wouldn’t imagine that wax potting affects the frequency response.
@@bluwng wax potting the pickups simply the stops vibration so the tone is cleaner and not picking up vibration and adds protection to the pickup.
