    My favorite list:
    1 Deep Purple: Shades 1968-1998
    2 Deep Purple: Listen Learn Read On
    3 Eric Clapton: Crossroads
    4 Judas Priest: Metalogy
    5 Santana: Dance of the rainbow serpent
    Worst boxes - both content and price:
    Pink Floyd album-boxes!

      Deep Purple is a really good box that I’ve worn out playing it so much. But it’s now 33 years old…I’d love an updated 50th anniversary box.

    very nice Brendon.I only got the smaller versions of AC/DC and Neil Young

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would only have had the bigger Amp edition of the AC/DC but I found the smaller one for $20 so I added it to the collection. I like how it is edited better than the bigger box that has all the bonus material.

    I was thinking the other day that it would be cool if you did an episode on your favorite Best Of/Greatest Hits albums.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m working on one to that effect and will probably be done as part of Best Of The Box. But I might also do a Top 10 if I get inspired while compiling all the collections. Thanks for the request.

    Nice video. People need the Springteen single Tracks set as a handful of songs on that are not on the large set.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The single disc called 18 Tracks has 15 from the boxset and 3 not included in the box and only available on the CD. It’s a great career overview that is like an alternate Greatest Hits.

    Wow! Very nice ones, Brendon! That Neil Young one is a thing of beauty. I would love to get that for my older brother. A favorite one of mine is New Order Retro (four CDs plus very nice booklet) with a slim and white clean design. A square chunky one with two CDs and a DVD that I love is Yaz In My Room. With films, I go for big sets. Criterion Blu-Ray Godzilla The Showa Era Films 1954-1975 and Battlestar Gallactica The Definitive Collection come to mind.
    Rock on! Always great content! - Heather

I also own all 3 Genesis boxes & Achieves 1 and 2 ( I know surprise!!! Lol) Eric Clapton Crossroads is also a favorite boxset of mine. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Playback is one of my favorite boxsets. 6 CDs. But I bet you have that one. Anyway that’s enough of my commentary for today. I’ll tell you the next boxset I’m gonna get. The Tony Martin Era “Anno DOMINI’ 4CD Black Sabbath set. Really looking forward to that, especially since I haven’t explored very much of Martin era Led Sabbath, so I couldn’t be happier getting that one. Anyhow. Love when you go through your boxsets. You’ve got one of the greatest collections I’ve ever seen. As you know, I’ve been following your channel since the very beginning, so I know quite well just how deep your collection goes…for now. 😉

    I also have AC/DC's Backtracks and, like you, I bought both versions. I also have the Best Buy version of the Tom Petty Live Anthology Box. I think I got it for $29.99 or something like that when Best Buy had a nationwide sale on it, I guess trying to get rid of inventory. Anyway, I own a lot of box sets too, like you (maybe not 200 of them, though.)
    Anyway, here are 6 of my favorites off the top of my head (I couldn't limit it to just 5. LOL):
    1. The Complete Elvis Presley Masters (2010 30-CD limited numbered first run edition) - If my house ever caught fire, this is the one item that I am carrying out of the house.
    2. Prince - Sign O' The Times (2020 8-CD, 1-DVD Super Deluxe Edition)
    3. The Who - The Who Sell Out (2021 5-CD, 2 7" vinyl singles, Super Deluxe Edition)
    4. U2 - Achtung Baby (2011 6-CD, 4-DVD, 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition)
    5. The Doors - Infinite {2013 Analogue Productions Hybrid SACD limited Box Set) - Contains the 6 Morrison-fronted albums remastered.
    6. Elvis Presley - A Boy From Tupelo (The Complete 1953-55 Recordings) (2012 FTD Records 3-CD Limited Edition) - Note: I also own the RCA Legacy edition that was released 5 years later without the big hardbound book and case. That one comes in the typical cheaper packaging that RCA/Legacy has been releasing their Elvis stuff in lately to the masses. Musically, both versions are almost identical. A couple spoken word/interview tracks are removed from the FTD version in lieu of a long-lost recording of a song Elvis recorded that was found after the FTD version was released.
    I could easily add many more from Elvis Presley, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell, Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Overkill, Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, Rush, Kiss, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, James Taylor, Def Leppard, Queen, Aerosmith, Bruce Springsteen, Heart, The Police, U2, The Cars, Cheap Trick, David Bowie, Bad Company, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Billy Joel, INXS, Ratt and so on. Of the 6 I did list above, The Complete Elvis Presley Masters is my all-time favorite box set. But for an archival release revolving around just a single album/era that contains the said album, outtakes, demos, singles, live versions, etc., I would have to say it is a toss-up between Prince's Sign O' The Times and The Who Sell Out. I still can't decide which of those two is my favorite. U2's Achtung Baby box set isn't far behind.
    I didn't include singles collections box sets, but if I had, here are four of my favorite singles collections Box sets:
    The Who - Maximum As & Bs: The Complete Singles (2017 5-CD)
    Dio - The Singles Box Set (1983-1993) (2012 14-CD, 1-DVD)
    Judas Priest - Single Cuts: The Complete UK CBS-Columbia Singles Collection (2011 20-CD Limited Numbered Edition)
    Kiss - The Casablanca Singles (1974-1982) (2012 29-CD Limited Edition Box Set)

      @BrendonSnyder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought The Crue boxset too for the same reason. I keep hoping they will release that version as a stand alone edition. Thought they might do it for their 40th anniversary. What better way to celebrate than with their first release. They also should have repressed their first 45 single for Toast Of The Town. A missed opportunity for the band. Maybe BMG who just bought the rights to their whole catalogue for $150 million will do a better job than the band has been doing.
