I just bought my little brother a XL-5 from pep boys and thinking of getting me the VXL... This dude video just show how much ridiculous speed these things can attain. I prefer all-terrain purpose though.
They sell them on Ebay, 10 and 12 gauge w traxxas connectors already on them.Custom RC Connections on ebay has a 10ga connector for about $9 just go to ebay and type traxxas series connector and scroll til you find 12/10 gauge one you like.
Very nice setup!one thing I noticed, is that it looks like your using the series connector made by traxxas for the 1/16 vehicles if so the gauge on that is not big enough and is not made for very high current like your using.I suggest find/make one that is at least 10/12 gauge anything less could damage batteries/ESC.
I’m new to RC Cars and I bought a Slash Platinum edition, also the DX4C controller and other extras for $80. Only problem was it had a broken rear drive shaft. So guess I gotta steal.. also getting a Revo for $70 cuz the dude said it turns on and all but only drives to the left and something about the connection to the radio or something. So I’m thinking it just needs an alignment or a new part to bring it back to life. Any suggestions on what to look for? But I already ordered a Rustler XL-5 for a decent price new on eBay, then I saw an upgraded VXL with a few extras and ended up winning the auction. So I’m thinking about upgrading one of them to my liking. I don’t think the VXL has that many upgrades that it’d be more worth it to start with that one, when I can just start from scratch and make it look and perform how I want. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I sub’d
thats whats up i wanted to ask where did you get the weights or whats the name casue im looking to upgrade me rustler but im thinking of doing a water cooling motor but still doing more research .and keep it up and if ur brother painting bodys ask if he dose all flat black paint or paint rims or air brush rims
I go on Traxxas, but I learned ALL MY TRICKS on you-tube...it's quicker and HANDS on to figure out how to really push your RC. Alot of forums like stock set-ups with a bunch of add-ons for looks, not speed & looks.
I dont want my rustler made for racing so what u recommend for my pinion and spur I got a castle creation engine on it 100,000 rpm I want to play in the dirt and gravel and road
Nice, man, 2 things if i could,y you dont flip bumper up side down, and 2 deff, get some atleast, 10 gauge wire on that series connector, i went through 2 b4 upgrading, i didnt really noticed till i kept poppin them and saw the cause being a big diff in wire gauge,,,, hope that helps, besides good job,,,
Dont use traxxas, just buy 1feet of red and 1,foot bk, wire and buy castle,creations 6.5mm bullet connectors they like $6for a set of 3 And have the hoby shop weld it, you gotta do your batts, ans the esc battery connection all with the bullets, they the same like the 1s on the stock mamba connector,,,, they give,max, current output,,,, any questions just holla playa, im no expert just love the hobby and does Hella research,,, hope that helps

when your esc went out, did it start on fire/smoke? or did it just cut power to your entire system?
You should tern the front bumper upside down, it might keep the car on the ground and get on road shocks.

Seeing them body clips everywhere I guess it makes it easier but it's soo fugly imo... Cars on point tho

It started with a FIRE (SMOKE THAT IS), then the entire unit went up in a blue/yellow flame. I caught it in time, I almost lost the entire car.
