Good video. I just bought an SL1000 but do not have it working yet. Your video is the best example of vertical Unimat SL1000 I have found. Very Helpful. Thank You (Danke) Brad Ballard Cincinnati, Ohio USA
ballardbrad Thank you for your comment. You may check a part of my collection on emco-unimat.tumblr.com/ many of the small lathes are very old and still in working order! They are very useful and versatile. Good luck with your SL!
so all unimat motor is Holand made, except this one right? this one is made in Germany? i have some question about unimat power feed for MK-4 (cast iron)
Hallo, for informations about Unimat go to: emco-unimat.tumblr.com All older Unimats like MK 1, 2, 3, 4 are cast iron. Motors are from different manufacturers during the 30 Years of production.... If you have a specific question just go ahead, greetings, Arnold
@@tenniV11Not quite, the post is not perpendicular by about 1mm over the height of the post on my machine. During setup I have to compensate for the error by putting a packer under the head at the bottom. This does the trick nicely.

I find mine doesn't drill perpendicular enough and needs to be packed square during setup.
Yes - you always have to center the vertical because it is adjustable in every direction
