You find the best stuff! I've watched a bunch of your videos and wherever you live is overflowing with awesome vintage and antique goodies! I wish I could find just one of your hauls around where I live. I'm sooo jealous!! Lol 😁😁😁
What a great haul, I love the reader digest books. I’ve never seen any with such beautiful covers. Number 2 is my favorite . Happy to hear you had some grand baby time, that is always a blessing. Yummy embroidery and lace trims. I wish I had more place to go treasure hunting here. It sounds like you had so much fun. Good for you, happy crafting. Awesome!
Love your fun and exciting haul Gayle. You know, the very few RD books I have found with the beautiful covers are all like those with the brittle spines. I have one the spine just fell completely off. Ohhh, that beautiful illustration on Mr and Mrs Jim and the cover of LLF, wow! Who doesn't love those adorable Golden Books. Cannot wait to see what you do with all those amazing treasures. I have thoroughly enjoyed the videos of everyone's snippet rolls. You will have amazing laces to play with.
Awesome haul especially love the binder books. I don't really see those or tally cards in my NZ thrift stores. Can't wait to see the journals you make out of these books❤
What a great haul. I think you've been really lucky with all these beautiful things and I believe you will be very busy with custom orders soon ❤ Nicole
Great finds! I want to try making some journals so I've been watching a lot of videos. It looks so fun! Our SPCA takes in books and every spring they have a sale for about 4-5 weeks. I kept saying I was going to go and today was the day! I got LGBs for 50 cents from the 70s-80s and several different dictionaries, some foreign language books (a french/english dictionary, an 1895 edition of the history of french literature and a finnish book from the 1940s of religious images, garden books and hymnals. Next I want to try coffee staining paper and stuff. I wonder if I'll actually be able to dismantle these books once I've got all my papers and such done - especially the lovely french book as it may actually be worth more than the $3 that I paid for it!
Wow! You found some great things! I have a few of those Reader’s Digests with the great covers - they’re fantastic! Love this haul girlfriend - you did good!
Man oh man, Kristen, I had a great day. I think I needed a day just to wander around and think about journals. It was so relaxing and restorative! Would have been better if you with me...but....we might have fought over stuff! 😂😂😂. Love you girlfriend! Hope all is well with you! 😘❤️
Oh, I wish I could have gone shopping with you! Looks like you had a great time. Those Readers' Digest books are gorgeous! I have the Joan Walsh Anglund Golden book-- I love it. Those playing cards are beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing the playing card packs you put in your shop. And I love, love, love tally cards. I didn't know there was such a thing until recently. I purchased some from Etsy sellers, and Kristen gave me a couple. They're so fun. The laces and linens are wonderful. You just had an awesome shopping experience!! Thanks for sharing. Hugs
Diane H. I would have loved to have had you with me! It was such a peaceful day just perusing the antique shop thinking about what would make or work in journals. I think I needed a day like that, you know what I mean? Thank you so much for the idea of putting these out there and just letting people tell me what they might want. They are going quickly! I'm going to be a busy girl! Love you, my friend, I'm so grateful for you! ❤️
Oh the illustrations on that handyman’s book are fabulous! I feel like we don’t have the same treasures in Australia, or if we do you have to pay an arm and leg for them. I love haul videos, TFS :)
I’m loving your videos. Where do you get the vintage children’s books? At the antique shop? Are they very expensive I find that antique stores usually are pretty expensive. Thanks. Lisa
Lovely video. I use such books and their pages in a lot of my journal making and crafting. Recent junk journal video evidence✅❤️👍 New subbie, paper addict, craft hoarder, passionate about paper and always will be. I've dinged the bell. Fi xx
Hi Bev! There are lots of debates on copyright stuff. Many discussions on Junk Journal Junkies Chat Group on Facebook. I'm not a lawyer, so have no legal knowledge at all. I generally am using books that are in the thrift store or estate or garage sales. My thought is, if it's one step away from the garbage, better to put it to good use by making a beautiful journal out of it. I never claim the artwork or cover art or any of that as my own. I always say, look at this beautiful Readers Digest book cover for instance. So I give credit where it's due. Also, there are many sellers on Etsy, EBay and even Amazon that are selling copies of books. I don't see that altering a book to make a journal then selling the journal is any different. Totally my opinions and as I said I have no legal knowledge. I think everyone should let their conscience be their guide. And that again is just my opinion. Thanks for watching, my dear. I'm sorry I have no definitive answers for you. ❤️
bev kovacs Hi again, Bev. I'm out of town on my iPad so don't have a way to link, but her channel on You Tube is Diane H. Her full name is Diane Hubbert. Hope that helps. ❤️
I made a baby journal for my first and only (so far) grand baby using the #3 cover. Their last name means “antler crown” in German, so we are doing a lot of fawn and woodland motifs for her. This cover was perfect. Maybe someone will request a baby book from this one, too.
Oh, Jan, what a lovely story! Thank you so much for sharing it with me! I love, love, love that cover! I think it's my favorite of the three. I had that moment in the store where I just about jump up and down and squealed when I found them! ❤️
Hi Bev! The copyright year is listed on one of the first pages of the book. It indicates when the book was written or when the most recent edition was printed. Hope that helps! ❤️
WOW what a awesome haul i loved the readers digest books and the laces pieces wow

I’m loving your videos. Where do you get the vintage children’s books? At the antique shop? Are they very expensive I find that antique stores usually are pretty expensive. Thanks. Lisa
Lisa Hirschbuhl I did get the children's books at the antique store and paid $4 to $5 each. Yes, expensive. 😁❤️

Hello there, im wanting to know if you still have the golden books?
Good morning Gayle
Gold mine
Lovely video. I use such books and their pages in a lot of my journal making and crafting. Recent junk journal video evidence✅❤️👍 New subbie, paper addict, craft hoarder, passionate about paper and always will be. I've dinged the bell. Fi xx
I believe if bridge players are missing one player they deal a hand to the empty space and that's the dummy hand.
Gayle. Is there a year that is ok for using book pages in a journal for sale?

I am confused by the copywrite year? please explain
Hi Bev! The copyright year is listed on one of the first pages of the book. It indicates when the book was written or when the most recent edition was printed. Hope that helps! ❤️
Not only is dummy a Bridge term, but so is double dummy.
Great finds! Those books covers are absolutely beautiful!!!
