That was incredibly beautiful, so emotional and ethereal. Debbie and Giovanni, you are stunning and have moved me to tears yet again. The chemistry is tangible, so totally in harmony with one another and the choreography is simply divine. A-maz-ing and should have been 40.

I have loved Debbie's dances all season but never really felt a connection before between either her and the dance, or her and Giovanni but tonight's dance was perfect for the amazing emotion that she brought to it. She danced it beautifully (ok, one weeny wobble) but it was smooth, classy and made me cry. Having watched it again several times this morning I've realised that the emotion, in part, comes from the extra dancers simply sitting and watching them dance - as if in wonder and amazement of the beauty of it. Along with Katya, I think that Giovanni's choreography really should be praised this season. Each of them has brought out the best in their partner without compromising on the technique of each dance style.
1:10 I tried that on a spinning roundabout-like ride on a park when I was little, it didn’t end well and was flung so I have no idea how a 59 year old lady can! Deserved 40, so emotional!
I noticed Giovanni oftentimes did a VW inspired AS (he did it with Georgia too). This class from beginning to the end. It's a dance that lends itself well with ballet stylisation and Gio went to town with the choreogaphy. Astounding. For the first time, I can actually FEEL Debbie meaning every step of her dance! 10!
Great score! I am SURE she's going to the final! Unless she had an accident and injured herself. I felt she peaked early in the weeks and too soon. How wrong was I?
dajtoad, it was a moving dance. The music helps, but Gio didn't resort to cheesy predictable sentimentality. That Flerkl is on steroids! Two speeds (actually the second speedier one is just a standing spin, but still)! And right after doing that amazing lift too. Amazing choreography indeed...

So beautiful and I think she is crying at the end, as that lift was perfect. Who knew she could do this and be so gorgeous out there. Giovanni seems to love her, he is thrilled with her.

They were by far the best couple on the floor week after week after week. This dance is my favourite of all the dances that have ever been danced on SCD. it will take something to beat the magic Debbie and Gio displayed here. Even the singing was way better than the usual. The pairing of Debbie and Gio has to be one of the very best ever on this show.
yes she did ballet, so what? this is a different ball game and there's nothing this woman cannot do! everything from the technique to the performance to the musicality was spot on! a well deserved 10, come on craig!

An added factor was that finally the singer sung the song beautifully! Too many times they ruin the songs but this was lovely x made the dance that little bit extra.
Performance & staging = beautiful like we're at the Broadway show. Tired of complaints she has dance training - so have MANY other contestants and she's nearly 60! Go on girl - win it all!! ;)
Diane Banks completely agree with you . she was a ballet dancer in her much younger days and I don't think it's the same kind of dancing. loads of contestants have got experience of dance in some ways may it be in being in a pop group or being in shows but don't hear people mentioning them . really hope she wins she's amazing
exactly, classical ballet training can actually often get in the way with ballroom dancing, and quite a lot with the latin dances so it´s not always ( or rarely really ) something that helps the contestants!
This is so true and why some of Debbie's latin dances have been a little bit off. She dances too much on her toes and with too much turn out. It can actually be harder to erase that than learn to do it from scratch. Her cha cha cha for instance was awkward looking because she danced it too balletic-ally. It'll be interesting to see how her jive will look.
I cannot watch Strictly without Giovanni..This was so beautiful and Debbie has supported him..She was a heartbroken, lost widow when she did this show. He helped her so much and understood that her heart belonged to Paul. I also think the Debbie is used to Live performances, she and Paul worked hard and needs to be precise to be a magican in her own right.
There might have been a mistake but she only and 5 days to learn this and that lift with her arms not touching him was tremendous. Nice pivots and posture etc... I shall go on for another 3 lines if I continue. Footwork :) but it should have been a 40 definitely. 10
Once again she took my breath away. Sublime choreography!! Fabulous lifts, magnificent quality of movement... but she wasn't stepping on her heels while doing the natural turns of the Viennese Waltz. Her top line was stunning, it was smooth as the purest silk, it was touching as a divine peace of art, but technically, there was a mistake. A 9.
Daniel Shumkin Nobody looks at these dances that deeply as it is an AMATEUR DANCE COMPETITION as long as they do the dance with no visible mistakes and stumbles and the judges don’t call them out for it they are deserving of the perfect score
As much as I enjoy this beautiful, heartfelt performance, I have to agree with Craig's score of 9. There was one little balance issue at 0:28 during the spin. Other than that, pure class. Truly, Broadway all the way!
This Craig guy did it again - gave a 9 ! Three fellow judges gave tens and he ruined the flow yet again with a 9 ! Time he was fired - hes been on the show far too long now.He also ruined Ms Burkes dance with a 9 when three other judges gave tens.
Debbie is really good but she needs to stop pulling out the age card, well u signed up for it not even Johnny did that with his disability just get on with it
Hab A I said this to my sister yesterday. When she signed the contract she knew her age. Johnny, THE MAN WITH THE DISABILITY, didn't say 'I've got one leg, so this was challenging'. He's the real inspiration.

Totally rigged! Completely over scored, I don't even know why I bother watching the dances anymore, I know exactly what everyone will end up with before they've even danced. Unreal.
Mollie is irrelevant here, I'm saying that she was over scored when you compare it to Joe's fantastic Samba which the judges said nothing but amazing things about, yet proceeded to give him all 9s and one 10? It's ridiculously rigged.
Sarah Hannah I think Joe's Samba was obviously a love of a hate thing. I do not think the concept worked with the samba technique for me. The whole thing felt disjointed and the promenades had to be slowed down for the music. I don't know what you people are on when you are trying to say this dance was overmarked. It should have been a 40.

You can do 3 and others have done 4 or 5 and not been penalised
