I would add Jorgen as a good (soft) counter to Dante: His shield + his ult delaying ability are often enough to kill Dante with magic or pure damage before he makes some real damage. And if Sebastian is with Dante, just add Helios to the mix (ideally ODH +Jorgen + Aurora) and you win 9 times out of 10! About Jorgen : Many people think he is not useful anymore because of Sebastian, but he is still a must have hero IMHO, and even against Sebastian he is still useful, especially when combined with Helios (who will kill Sebastian and the supported DPS). And actually, he is also a good soft solution against Iris too, who is every Aurora player (I am) worst nightmare (I had to fast boost my Astaroth - your favorite tank ;) - who is not too bad against her, as he is so healthy and can revive himself - for another video?).
Fascinating. I normally use the heroes with armour as first artefact and then a damage dealer. So normally Astaroth, Andvari, Helios and Martha with someone like Orion as the damage dealer. Although I love using Yasmine but has a mixed end point of course with all them dodges.
I have been using that line up for quite a long period of time to date. The thing is that it will not always be as effective, but in specific case scenarios it will. Now, what matters to be mentioned there is that some times the team pet must be Cain and some times Axel, all depending highly on what set up is in defense. Furthermore, that set up in defense can be countered the other way around ig attacking Dante is replaced by Astaroth, and pets on patronage over Heidi and Iris changed to Cain and/or Albus/Biscuit. The pet on Dorian also matters a lot in all case scenarios so it reverses between Axel and Merlin. The attacking formation with Astaroth in place of tank is what I adore most as it can literally break so many hard defenses, except where there is Rufus. The Astaroth based attacking formation may not work well against the twins, which is why Andvari comes in play then. Now on countering Dante furthermore. Good heros to be used vs Dante are as follows-Astaroth, Andvari, Sebastian Helios, Jhu, Karkh and Nebula. Healers Martha and Dorian, whereas Martha normally supports Jhu and Karkh based line ups and Dorian supports all other. Another good set of heros that can be used efficiently vs Dante are Cleaver and Aurora, but they may require support of Celeste in some cases. In general, Dante, as much good he actually is, there are tons of possible counters for him all depending on what other heros are there with him. I think the most important thing to bear in mind is that Dante is physical damage dealer, and magic casters, In first place Helios should be considered vs him and the second place is reserved for Sebastian, but as mentioned earlier, it all depends on other team heros accompanying defending Dante. Not to mention that Arachne is very effective there too. Cheers.

in max testing, an effective and hilarious way to counter Dante tank is Chabba, Aurora, Markus, Celeste plus another hero to counter the others in the team. Not sure I would level up Chabba just for that though, but it's fun to use in brawls
Chabba is my main tank in one of accounts, and my Chabba & Dante team doesn't experience problems when facing Dante-tanking teams. It is because Dante's violet skill "Shackles of Weaknesses" is very counterproductive against Chabba's blue skill, "Fat's layer". Besides, Chabba & Aurora double tank teams can be very annoying in defense.
Nice video I like hearing about counters. I think it's super funny how people are so divided about dante a lot of people seem to rank him low on tier lists and say he's not worth investing in. I decided to try him out since I've only been playing a couple of weeks and he's like one of my strongest heroes. I can't imagine how he'd be on the browser version if he's stronger than mobile another hero that seems really good is artemis she seems to even be able to out dps dante sometimes.
I haven't noticed Dante in particular. My undead team uses Corvus as well as Phobos and Perry, so I've got Pure and Magic damage that can negate the Dodge bonus. Usually as long as the enemy team isn't too much stronger, he is no threat
This works mostly vs low level teams. On my server the *starting* Dante is 190k power and boosted by a team of 180k+ other heroes. Basically this setup, even if you use Andvari to reduce pushback, *SHALL* 2 shot Heidi and 2-3 shot Iris while the healer is still at 25% of her energy buildup.
Sorry I am not an English speaker, so I don't get how your Dante load so fast the energy to shoot.. It is required to have those heroes? I use Marta, Quin Mao but with me he is so slow loading the energy, is because my heroes? I have Jorgen too and Astaroth.. Ty
Hi Charlie! Thanks for your HWC videos. I am on your server with Squerlyone as he and I are in the same guild. He's kind of been my mentor over the past three years... Anyway, I have not leveled up Dante, Iris or Heidi. My top 9 are all Red +2. Keira, Helios, Yasmine, Astaroth, Martha, Isaac, Orion, Andvari and Sebastian (Jhu is my 10th at orange +3). My Sebass is not fully developed in skins, or ascension, but artifacts (until now) have been developed. I can make to second place in the Arena, but can't get past Raven. If I ask Squerly he'd let me have it. I've been working on Sebastian, Aurora and Nebula. My Dorian is only 76K and only use him with Helios and Orion. From watching your videos, it seems I work on the wrong heroes. I've got so much invested in my top 15 (for the GA) that it's hard to build up others. Any advice? I am MeanGene on Server 25 in Divine Awakening.
When Dante is a tank, you should count Jorgen as well - seems effective even when there's Seb with Dante. Also Helios, as was mentioned before, due to Dante's crit hits. And even stronger one to counter him is Amira as she makes his crit hits to miss. But she doesn't seem to be very popular as is quite limited in her usefulness.
Dante was puzzling me for a while and indeed the Heidi - Iris combo wins all the Dante teams except if the other team has Rufus. If Rufus is in the opponent's team then I use Morrigan

I would also think she should be easy prey for Bob, if he can smack her before his eternal soul is skewered... It is just feels kind of helpless that there is no counter to Exposed Soul... no counter or debuff short of killing her straight out.
I keep hoping to see a Phobos use in one of our guild fights, but he's a low-priority INT hero to most so I just don't see it that often. The problem is with the right pet, Sebastian has higher physical attack.

Great video. I have a lot of work to do on my Heidi but I have already been working on Dorian and Iris.
Dante is my main DD, I started building him rapidly, when Yas started getting so many hard counters.

Is Dorian still effective if I have a high powered tank like Aurora? She holds the line negating Dorian’s proximity to my other heroes.

I have gone up agaist Dante with power level around 170k (Dante + pet). He kills my team so fast I litterally do no healing. (Martha+Celeste+Oliver).

What you should have mentioned is that Dante must be matched with Cain. Otherwise the dodge energy gain doesn't work.
I have a 10I Dante in one of my asgard teams, and he is pretty effective.
Can also use Aurora with Cain and hopefully team dodges his attack.

You can use Arachne or Nebula as a tank. They help against Dante. And put a damage dealer in the last spot.

not sure it's a good strategy, but I use Morrigan - Dante hates her army, so those spears get wasted.
