true @kyle olsen. its truly beautiful but the price is likely very high. If you want something custom made then it could be worth the price, but if its for a regular household item then its not practical to pay a huge fee. But truly amazing work done here with lots of time and effort. For that he has my respect. Of course this is only speculation I have no idea what his pricing is like. But since its custom made by hand, its likely to be pretty pricey for the typical buyer. Iv seen custom mugs go for $20 so do the math ;3. Cheers

What was the purpose of the wadding added, before adding and forming the neck? Support for the body? How many pounds of clay total would you say you used?
I've seen large open pots thrown as a single piece, which is an extremely messy and visceral process, but this was so precise and fascinating. It shows the nature of clay; it truly is malleable enough to reflect the nature of any artist.
Ive watched Ben throw several times in his shop.....Id love to say he inspires me but he makes me want to throw all my pottery in the trash.... he is truly talented....If you are ever in Seagrove, N.C you really need to go by his Studio and see his work......
First it makes a large planter, very nice, then another, also nice but no bottom for some reason. Then OMG he isn't, wow puts that together seamlessly, then another and it keeps going on and on. My mind is blown. I can't even imagine the kiln this is going into or how he may decorate it. Wow.

This is great! How much time do you spend between attaching new pieces to allow for firming up? Or do you attach immediately? I've found things sag if you don't let the stiffen up. Also, have you ever had issues with attaching "top" to "top"? I'm just stating to try some bigger things in this realm. Its a fun challenge. Nice pots, nice studio, nice work. :)
