Immediately subscribed. Thats a really good analysis. You touch on a lot of points I also like to bring up, when talking about how great the writing in digimon is.
Sora's mistake was not knowing that the time she was thinking about was when Tai was fully only self focused and lucked his way into accidentally passing her the ball. It helps the audience see Tai's actual thought process and how immature he actually is, and in what ways he needs to grow.
Agreed! Foreshadowing that Sora was making a bad call based on misinformation. Fortunately Tai learned the lesson but he choose to learn it the hard way.
@dreaper7282 yeah, that would be great! And maybe you could do multiple parts for each character as they change throughout the different series, like Tri and Kizuna
My thoughts on Tai's character He is reckless. He does have some of the classic hallmarks of Shounen Protagonist, but he also has complexity that isn't as common. Tai sees the goal and nothing in between. He knows what he needs to do and anything that gets in the way of that, he tries to bulldoze his way past. He also isn't as good at gauging the feelings and needs of the group, especially when he has his mind set on the goal. But, since he's so good at delegating and working with others, he has the other kids to help him with his shortcomings. Izzy is basically his lieutenant, giving him crucial information as they face each threat. Tai also gives the task of figuring out Myotismon's gate to Izzy because Tai knows Izzy is the one who's most likely to figure it out. He has Matt and Sora to look after the younger members and the general wellbeing of the group. He butts heads with Matt a lot. This is because Matt has trouble controlling his very strong emotions, and Tai isn't good at dealing with people who have very strong emotions. More often than not the dub tries to put Tai in a better light in their arguments, while in the sub, Tai can be a bit more harsh and insensitive when dealing with Matt. Overall, Tai is a really well written Shounen protagonist and just a well written character in general. He keeps the group moving forward and has realistic flaws and moments of weakness.
Good analysis! Yes there are some noticeable differences based on the version you view. Reapers partial to the English dub so that's where we pull most of our data
@@dreaper7282 I completely agree. I even bought a fall poster of Joe and gomamon's evolutions. Kind of been my favorite. I think it was the dub voice for gomamon that did it for me. He's just so positive, I don't know if it affected my personality growing up but I've always lived by his mantra. And four kids is terrible but there's some fun from it and I feel like it's affected me for my childhood

Thanks Hustlinger! Yes! The writing is seriously underrated!
Tai is one of the greatest characters I've seen in fiction. Thank you for the vid.
Our pleasure risersin! And Yes he truly is among the most memorable and well written characters.

Tai is my favorite character in the entire series. If you have more of him I want to see that! 😄
Ha ha! Yep! He's a fan favorite for a reason a very well rounded character indeed.
I would love to see a video like this about takeru your analysis are so good
Thanks Frittella! I bet we'll get to T.K. before to long. The only question is will it be from 01 or 02?
@@dreaper7282i think it could be both!

@@laneyl2784 Thanks Laneyl! It's certainly up for consideration, we'll see if its in the cards. But not Tri...
Dang I wish I could like the other 100, I wanna see that!
Thanks! We'll see what happens!

@dreaper7282 I'm more familiar with the dub, too 😅😁 I like how corny it is lol. Besides I grew up with the dub, I will always love it 🥰
I love that, I feel like i’ve been very spoiled with how Taichi is written that other shounen protagonist doesn’t come as nearly as good as Tai
@@Freezient Tai sets the bar pretty high!
If season one Matt or Izzy. Season 2 probably Davis
Stay behind for friends? Hmm🤔 sounds familiar
Reaper's certain he has no idea what your talking about...
Joe would be cool he seems like he's simpler character to analyze
Hurray a Joe fan! Definitely a character who needs more love!
