This is legit man! We played true survival almost a year ago and man was it fun! With the new update we will definitely play again! I know your wrapping up the major features of the project but I hope a million people find your datapack and play it
Nice datapack! You could also make the elder guardian drop the heart of the sea, it makes sense because the conduit is like the beacon for the water and the nether star can be obtained only by killing the wither.
This is the exact thing I've been looking for to make my brutally difficult modpack even more brutally difficult! I am also very thankful that you have easy configuration so that I can make sure it's compatible. Overall I think that you did a great job on this datapack, and I hope that you are happy in your future endeavors.
hell yeah! I loved true survival during my last playthrough and will definitely use 1.18 as an excuse for a go through of this new version! Right off the bat I like the introduction of another way to get torches. you've got a campfire up most of the time anyway due to the health regen, so that'll save me a bit of kindling farming. The change of regeneration definitely had the biggest impact on how I played last time.
A lot of new challenges, but new conveniences as well. The rebalancing of the enderdragon fight should help, but plunging the dark caves below y=0 is going to be terrifying.

This Datapack is honestly my favorite I've used so far. I run with a couple packs to create a survival RPG experience and this is by far my favorite out of all the packs I use. Great work!
At 5:53 you could have teleported the vindicator into the void then kill it, instead of just killing it (in the function). This would make it look more seamless, because you don't see the fall-over death animation.
this would work except you cant teleport mobs inside boats. with survival datapacks, gotta account for those edge cases otherwise it would spawn unlimited custom villagers without killing the vindicator Edit: In a coming update I do plan on turning the illagers invisible before converting them to help with that weird animation. Thanks for pointing it out!
I really like this datapack but one thing my friends and I were talking about is why does the chainmail prevent zombie hunger bites but not any of the other types of armor, like if your fully covered idk
This actually sounds awesome and my type of challenge! Will be compatible with future updates tho? Not sure how datapacks work. Thanks Jorge! Glad you like it. If some textures aren't changing and some are, there might be conflicts with other resource packs unfortunately. I'll look into it if there's anything I can do on my end, but I don't believe so
Yay! Cant wait to include this on my new survival server for my friends. Also i have a question is it possible to delete a function in the folder to "disable" some featers or are you also going to update the "core feature" pack for people who want more vanilla
Yeah you can disable features but it would take a fair bit of manual editing. To start, you can follow this file path in the datapack: data>tsurvival>functions>tick.mcfunction Open 'tick' with a text editor and place a '#' in front of the line of any feature you don't want to be active.
Hey do you think it would be possible to port this to bedrock? I know crafting recipes are possible, but I don't know how to do functions like for iron nuggets dropping from stone or getting healed by dropping a log on a campfire...
@@DevonsDesk i gave it a little test and so far it hasn't had any issues besides the fact the texture for sea shards doesn't work but that's like the only issue
Looks great! If I play on a server, do I need to make everyone in it download the resource pack? Or can the resource pack be purely server-side? I usually just drop data packs into the datapacks folder but never had any that used resource packs before.
The resource pack is encourages but this datapack is designed to have the resource pack be optional. However, you should be able to set it as the server resource pack as well!
Yo is there any way to disable the iron golem not dropping iron due to non player kills, I just worked really hard on an iron farm and added this datapack after, I really enjoy all the other of these features I just would really like to remove that one for myself.
Yeah it's quite easy! Follow this file path in the datapack: data>minecraft>loot_tables>entities>iron_golem.json. Then, delete the iron_golem.json file and reload the datapack with a /reload command. That should do it
If you are even reading this I have a problem. The custom items textures aren't loading. I.e. the healing salve it a bowl of mushroom stew. Anything you know that could fix this?
Have you installed the optional resource pack? The datapack is designed so you don't need it but to get the textures you need the resource pack. Links to it are on the same page as the datapack
@@DevonsDesk I’m having an assumption it might be coming from a chunk preloader plugin. But it might be an EssentialsX plugin I have. I have two of them, the main one and the chat add-on plugin.

I'm not familiar with Aurelium, but True Survival should be compatible with most any 1.18 datapacks or mods. The thing to watch out for are plugins. There's a lot of low compatibility for any server that isn't Fabric or Vanilla

Yeah theres a setting in the guidebook that allows you to configure regen while in-game

there is a setting in the guidebook. if you dont have one, you can get one by typing /trigger tsurv.guide
how is life regenerated?
Throw logs onto a campfire, use a healing salve, keep your hunger/light levels high, or use vanilla means like golden apples.
